Mature Club Sponsored by MR. SIMPSON The Nature Club is sponsored for the younger boys to increase their interest in natural science. The club encourages cooperation among the members in carrying out joint projects democratic¬ ally agreed upon. Not only does the club seek to further the nature interest and education of its own members but also seeks to spread its in¬ fluence to others. Among activities which the members plan are: conducting hikes and excur¬ sions, setting up a vivaria, performing science ex¬ periments and demonstrations, planning a science exhibit, etc. The activities of the club are timed to coincide with the planning and teaching of other subjects. The Schoal Dance On Saturday night, February the second, at eight o ' clock sharp life around Blue Ridge School started to buzz. The school dance opened with Elmer C. Luck and his orchestra beating out the national anthem, Dixie. From eight until mid¬ night the environment was filled with music and laughter. There was a smile on every face and a twinkle in every eye, and no one had any com¬ plaints. The dance was sponsored by the Esquire Club, and with the full cooperation of all the members, the faculty, and the patrons the club was able to make it a great success. Under the leadership of Hugh Neisler the decorating committee created a beautiful ball room in the study hall. The color scheme was red and white. Red drapes were hung in the windows, and the orchestra stand was set off by red and white crepe paper. Other than the dance hall Mrs. Morris beautifully decorated a class room in which to serve refreshments at intermission. Tables with red and white cloths were arranged on opposite sides of the room. Mrs. Sandifer and Mr. and Mrs. Simpson served a very delicious punch. All the factors con¬ tributed to the success of the dance which will be well remembered in the future history of the school.
