National Prep Championship BRS second 49 pts. 110 Varsity Wrestling With a lot of sweat. muscle and physical strain, plus many hours of repe- titious practice the matmen under the leadership of Coach Glover paced on to a 14-1 record. They also swept four tournaments with record high totals and finished the season off by taking second in the National Prep Tournament. This years team had great performances from three time State Champion Capt. Lee Swift. 29-1 and by two time National Prep Champ Joe Valenete, 30- 3. They were backed up by line performances from the rest of the team. The grapplers beat such powers as Woodberry Forest, Norfolk Academy and Bishop O'Connell while on their way to glory. Only losing five starters the squad should be exceptionally strong for next season. The reason being that this years B and C teams were ll-0 + 6-0 respectfully. Dropping many weaker teams, next years will be facing many state and out of state powers. With the tougher schedule it is hoped that it will make them ready to take the Nationals next year.
