He is planning to become a minister--would like to attend Union College in Ken- tucky. DARLENE ELIZABETH WILDER, Bunny New Milford - Just Checkin' - Basketball 1-2, Volleyball 1-2, Track 1, Tri-Hi-Y 1-2. Bunny collects coins and pictures. She likes roller skating, square danc- ing, basketball, volleyball, Italian dishes, and secretarial work. She enjoys traveling and would like to fly to Bermuda. She thinks being an airplane stewardess would be fun. After graduation she plans to find work as a Dental Secretary. MARGARET JANE WOOD, Marge I-Iallstead Softball at East Junior High 1. Margaret possesses a pleasing personality which has gained her many friends. She has a ready sense of humor and is willing to help in all class projects. Much of Marge's time is spent with Maureen, indulging in their favorite pastime, having a good time. We wish you the best of everything in the years to come. SANDRA MAYE YOW, Sandy Hallstead - Darn It! - Ensemble 1-2-3-4, Band 1-2, Orchestra 1-2-3, Class Play 4. One of the most attractive girls in our class is Sandy. Her cheerful smile and pleasant disposition add to her charming personality which makes her well liked by all. She plays the organ for many occasions, but is better known as a pianist. CLASS HISTORY GREAT BEND When we entered h1gh school In 1950 we were glad to be asslgned to Mlss Demer's home room for to us thls was proof of our havxng left elementary and Jumor hlgh school behmd us Now we were growlng up' At the flrst homeroom meetmg we found most of the faces were the same as those we had seen the prevlous year Our class had seventeen members Esther Ab bott James Abbott Gary Balanls Jeanette Caswell Mary Lou Conkhn Robert Colwell Rlch ard Colwell Dorls Hughes Leonard Hughes Charlotte Lewls Merle Newman Glenn Raub Betty Sears Howard Teel Sh1rley Towner Arlene Trelble and Wayne Mllls Durlng thls year we got a gllmpse of the work that was ahead of us for we started llterature ClVlCS and other hlgh school subjects Thls was mdeed a busy year for there were many new act1v1t1es as well as courses for us to try Before we reahzed the m1d year had past Sprmg came and the year was flmshed We were about to become Worthy Sophomores ' Our return 1n the fall was tmged with sadness at the loss of our beloved classmate Rlchard Colwell who had drowned ln the late summer Hls loyalty to the class and to our school shall never be forgotten We were glad to welcome to our class several new members Roberta Crosby Sh1rley Van Vleck Betty Perry Florence Stone and Davld W1ll1ams Thxs year we elected class offlcers namely Presldent James Abbott Vlce Presldent Robert Colwell Secretary, Florence Stone Treasurer Mary Lou Conkhn and Mr Allen became our sponsor Our class proyects were fudge sales bake sales and other aCtlV1t16S that taught us co opera t1on estabhshed our bank account and gave us endless pleasure Now we felt that we had pro g essed a httle farther along the road to that day Graduatlon Our Jumor year was one of loss and galn for when we returned 1n the fall we mlssed elght class members Jeanette Caswell Mary Lou Conkhn Roberta Crosby, Betty Sears Betty Perry Sh1rley Van Vleck Davld Wllliams and Wayne Mills However we d1d galn one member Mau reen Heath who has been a cheerful add1t1on to our group But early rn the fall pol1o struck one of the most cheerful members of our class Dons Hughes The loss of her help loyalty and frlendly smlle has been mmeasurable Even though she IS yet 1n a hospital movlng slowly along the hard road to recovery through the medlum of her letters she IS ever wlth us ln sp1r1t and IS truly a member of our class In the sprlng Florence Stone left us to get marrxed and we were eleven ln number Th1s year our fund raxslng act1v1t1es were more dlversxfled wlth candy sales statlonery sales and s1m1lar act1v1t1es Our blg event of the year came xn May On May 7th at the Three Gables we entertamed the semors and faculty at the annual Jumor Semor Banquet Our class rlngs were very much 1n evldence and everyone felt proud to wear the seal of the new Blue Rldge Jo1nt Hlgh School l'h1s successful social proJect was the last of our Junior year and we felt that our work for the last two years had not been ln va1n for were we not to become dlgnxhed semors 1n the fall? That long awaited year had fmally come we are as the bards have named us ' Dlglllfled Semors The new offxcers for our f1nal year ln school are Presldent Merle Newman Vxce Presldent Robert Colwell Secretary Arlene Trelble and Treasurer Esther Abbott The pro Ject program set up by the class was not very extenswe The flrst effort of the year was ex pended on the annual Electlon Supper WhlCh was quxte successful Then we completed the plans for our serles of roller skatmg partxes Everyone enjoyed them so much that the atten dance grew and grew Needless to say these were the most profltable of all our f1nanc1al plan In December nearly everyone partlclpated ln the schoo1's Chrxstmas pageant That was when we dlscovered the male sololsts of our class to say nothlng of Its Angel1c Females After the hollday vacatxon we became more serlously mterested ln studles basketball volleyball and ln flnal preparatlons for graduation as we attempt to look 1nto the future we see devlous paths upon whlch each class member shall have to travel alone That our tralnmg at Blue Rldge Hlgh School has been adequate to help us meet the tasks ahead has been proven 1n the year Just behmd us What we do w1th this preparatlon how we meet llfe and what our ultxmate goal shall be are thmgs that we alone can declde Of one thmg we are sure, the lessons the frlends and the memorles of our days here w1ll l1ve ln our hearts and mmds forever 30 ,, - 9 9 - . . . . 9 - 9 .
