Don keeps a scrapbook on cars. He likes to travel and wants to see the United States and Europe. Italian dishes and sea food are favorites of his. He plans to join the Navy and hopes to be able to do some kind of mechanical work. The song he plays most is the Missouri Waltz. Merle! How do you like football? Good luck in your undecided career. FRANCES LILLIAN OAKLEY, Frank Hallstead Frank is one of the quietest girls in our class. She may be shy but she is one of the nicest girls with the sweetest smiles ever. We often see her at the library or carrying one of her favorite mystery books around with her. Frances is planning a business career. We want to wish her all the luck in the world for her future. EUGENE FRANCIS OSTERHOUT, Moose Hallstead - I'll Clobber You - Rifle Club 1-2-3, Athletic Club 4. Moose is a big, husky fellow with less to say than most of the fellows. We say Gene is big, but we think his heart is most of that bigness. Although his future is not quite planned, Gene is pretty sure he will get a letter from the President soon after graduation. He surely does get around in that jeep. Glenn! Where do you go in that flivver? Good luck. DOROTHY MAE ROBERTS, Dot Hallstead - Next Victim! - Track 1-2-3-4, Cheerleader 4, Ensemble 1-2-3-4, F.H. A. 4, Class Plays 3-4, County Festival 1-2-3-4, Vocal Trio 2-3, Vocal Quartet 2, Blue Ridge Concert 3-4. Dot is a little blond girl with a very cute smile. Friendly with everyone, especially boys, and active in both cheerleading and track. The future lay- ing ahead of Dot is one of nursing at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City. We will be happy to see her successful in this and in all her future p ans. ROBERT ROOD, Bob Hallstead - I Don't Get This Crap - Basketball 2, Track 1-2-3-4, Rifle Club 1. Bob is a tall, handsome fellow with sparkling eyes and a wide grin for everyone. For a long time he stuck faithfully to a paper route, but finally he decided to learn the art of meat carving. Having an Army career laying ahead, we hope Bob is successful and we wish him the best of luck forever. KAY LOIS SCHMICK, Kay Hallstead - For Crying Out Loud - Ensemble 1-2-3-4, County Festival 1-2-3-4, Blue Ridge Concert 1-2-3-4, Class Plays 3-4, Orchestra 1-2-3, Band 1-2-3-4, Secretary 4. This attractive girl with shining light brown hair, brown eyes and a nice smile is the Einstein of the Senior Class. Her ability in the field of science has contributed tremendously to her future, nursing at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City. May we all wish you the very best of luck. 25
