MERLE WILLIAM NEWMAN, Hugh Great Bend - Take It Easy - Band 1-2-3-4, Chorus 1-2-3-4, County Festival 3. Merle is the very sophisticated boy of our class. His hobby is playing the piano. The song he plays most is the Missouri Waltz. Merle! How do you like football? Good luck in your undecided career. FRANCES LILLIAN OAKLEY, Frank Hallstead Frank is one of the quietest girls in our class. She may be shy but she is one of the nicest girls with the sweetest smiles ever. We often see her at the library or carrying one of her favorite mystery books around with her. Frances is planning a business career. We want to wish her all the luck in the world for her future. EUGENE FRANCIS OSTERHOUT, Moose Hallstead - I'll Clobber You - Rifle Club 1-2-3, Athletic Club 4. Moose is a big, husky fellow with less to say than most of the fellows. We say Gene is big, but we think his heart is most of that bigness. Although his future is not quite planned, Gene is pretty sure he will get a letter from the President soon after graduation. We hope the best will always come to you Gene. CHARLES ROBERT PAGE, Charlie New Milford - Wow! Look At That! - Baseball 2-3-4, Track 2, Athletic Association 2, Hi-Y 2, Hi-Y President 2, F.F.A. 1-2-3-4, F.F.A. Secretary 2-3-4, Junior Play, Senior Play. Charlie likes to hunt. In fact, he likes all sports--especially baseball. Dancing, swimming, ice skating, and apple pie and ice crea.m are on his list of likes too. He plans to join the Navy and learn a trade. 23

CHARLOTTE ANN LEWIS, Char Hallstead - The Poor, Crazy, Little Mixed Up Kid - Ensemble 2-3-4, Blue Ridge Concert 3-4, Orchestra 2-3, Band 2-3-4, Sub-Cheerleader 2, County Festival 1-2-3-4, Vocal Trio 2-3, Vocal Quartet 2. Class Play 4. A very talkative and cute girl who likes to have a good time. Her lovely alto voice and big bass fiddle make her an important figure in music. Char- lotte is undecided about her future, she's thinking of nursing and music both. Which ever one of these she chooses we want to wish her all the luck in the world. ELWIN LEE MACCONNELL, Mac New Milford - Hullo There, Dearie - Basketball 1-2-3, Volleyball 1-2-3-4, Track 1, Baseball 2-3-4, Athletic Association 2, F. F. A. 1-2-3 -4, Class Vice-President 3. Mac likes just about everything. He usually announces his presence with his hoarse frog-call. He would like to travel around the world by plane. He plans to go to college and study Agriculture, and then perhaps teachthe course. GEORGE MARTIN, JR. , Lover Hallstead Baseball 1-2-3-4, Basketball 2-3-4, Athletic Club 3-4, F. H. A. 1-2, Blue Ridge Concert 3, Boys' Glee Club 1-2, Class Plays 3-4. Tall, dark and handsome apply to George. His full of fun attitude and ever ready gift of gab made him an immediate hit with everyone. The class Shiek, George's interests center mainly around girls. George's future lies with the Air Force. To him we wish the best of luck. GERTRUDE JOANN MASON, Jo New Milford - l'll Clue You! - Band 1-2, Mixed Chorus 1-2-4, Girls' Chorus 3, Ensemble 3, Festival 1-4, Basketball 2, Tri-Hi-Y 1-2, F.H.A. 2-3-4, Junior Play, Senior Play. Piano-playing is something Jo likes to do very much. She also enjoys danc- ing, singing, reading Qmysteriesj, photography, eating spaghetti, and sewing. She is interested in becoming a Home Ec. teacher. She may join the WAVES after graduation. 22

Bob likes showing cattle. He enjoys keeping the records of his dairy herd. He has been very active in the Ag. Course. He plans to farm after gradua- tion. He would like to go to Arizona and study methods of farming there. DONALD EDWARD PEASE, Don New Milford - How About That! - Mixed Chorus 4, Hi-Y 2, F. F.A. 1-2-3-4, Junior Play, Senior Play. Don keeps a scrapbook on cars. He likes to travel and wants to see the United States and Europe. Italian dishes and sea food are favorites of his. He plans to join the Navy and hopes to be able to do some kind of mechanical work. HELEN JANE POTTER New Milford - I Could Swear! - Volleyball 1-2-3-4, Basketball 1-2-3-4, Track 2, Athletic Association 2, Mixed Chorus 1-2-4, Tri-Hi-Y 1-2-3, Junior Play, Senior Play, Class Treasurer 4. Helen collects stamps and coins. She likes to play basketball and volley- ball, ice skate, and roller skate. She likes to eat--her favorite is pizza pie. She enjoys working in the store very much. She plans to go to college to study to be a Physical Education teacher. NEIL NORMAN PRICE New Milford Is She Looking?
