Eagle Dribblers Compete in orth Schuylkill Leagueg Win 9, Lose 13 THE EAGLE COURTMEN, coached by Glen Kramer, posted a 9-13 overall slate for the 1965-1966 season. In their exhibition opener, Kramer's quintet lost to Pottsville 75-59. Minersville downed the Eagles twice with 67-42 and 70-52 scores. In their other non-league game against Pine Grove, the Eagles came out on the short end of a 68- 51 score . In league competition, the Eagle dribblers opened the season with a 69-64 deficit to Mount Carmel. In second-half play, the Eagles downed the Red Tornados 69-58. The Eagle courtmen defeated Shenandoah 78-66, but lost 8-76 in the second game with the Blue Devils. Blue Moun- tain decisioned Panther Valley 80-65 and dropped a 67-50 defeat in the second half. Eagle courtmen battle for reboimd in Minersville game. League Champ, Mahanoy Area, Won both games, 71-58 and 76-51. The Eagle courtsters I split a pair of games with Ashland, winning 65- 53 and losing 63-59. Saint Clair punished the Eagles 81-68, but was nipped 61-59 in the second game. The Eagle dribblers shocked Schuylkill Haven 80-72 and were edged 79-77 in the second- half game. Ringtown lost both games, 71-63 and 94-47. The Eagles defeated Frackville 68-63, but were downed 85-75 by the Mountaineers in the second game. Rick Snyder copped the North Schuylkill League individual scoring championship with 473 points. This was the first year that all three Blue Mountain football teams had Winning seasons. The frosh gridmen drubbed Saint Clair 26-O, in their first game. They then were nipped by Panther Valley 7-6 and dropped a 13-7 loss to Tamaqua. The young Eagles finished their season in a blaze of glory, triumphing over Mahanoy Area, 28-O, Potts- ville, 7-6, and Tamaqua, 14 -0.
