T. Lowrey has been pres- B ident of Blue lilountain College. That he is eminently E5 qualified for being a college president is shown by the fact that during his presidency of Blue lVIountain College the Mississippi Baptist College at Clinton, lVIississippi, called him to its presidency, where he remained for thirteen years, L after which he was recalled to resume his position as head of Blue Mountain College. i Under his leadership our college has steadily advanced, until today it stands in the front ranks of Southern colleges for women. Dr. Lowrey has ever held a lofty place in the affection and appre- ciation of his students. As the head of the college he has exhibited qualities of executive ability and leadership that have largely made the institution what it is today. As a teacher in the college, he has shown high scholarship and teach- ing ability. As a man, the girls have ever admired him as the embodiment of all that is chivalrous and manly and noble, and in him they have ever found a sympathetic friend and a fatherly counselor. For a Blue Mountain girl, wherever he may meet her, he has a kindly light in his eye, a cordial hand-grasp, and a bright, cheery word, and it is easy to see that for them his great heart beatsiwith genuine, affectionate interest.
