WE THE PEUPLEPRZQ Intelligent use of the ballot has long been recognized as the bul- wark and sole guardian of the democratic state. ln America the schools have assumed the burden of preparing each generation of voters to use the ballot to assure themselves that the powers which the people have surrendered to the government will be used for the greatest good. ln manyrespects the school has become, therefore, the proving ground for democracy, here the mistakes that the students make are rectified in order that future participation in the national government may be with fewer errors. With the objective in mind of training students for better citizen- ship, the school likewise has accepted the responsibility of training the citizens of tomorrow in all of social relationships necessary in later life. Vocational guidance, some understanding of the problem of the consumer, and social situations which parallel those that are to be repeated at a later date are provided that the student in the school may have fully as rich an experience as that of the citizens which have left school. The results of this system of education will show them- selves in a better, more intelligent, and democratic America. STUDENTS DEMONSTRATE CORRECT Q METHOD VOTING
