However two records were broken this year. One by Vern Stumpenhorst in the low hurdles--old record 22.5 new 21.8 and the other by Francis Crocker in the shot-put--old record 43 ft. 8 in., new record 44 ft. The juniors won the inter-class meet by a margin of 122 to 41 for the sophomores and 12 1X4 for the freshmen. The juniors won all but one event which was the shot-put. Jim Hesman was the individual high scorer with 36 points and Jim Baird was second with 24 for the juniors. Larry Jacobs was the lone Freshman scorer. Vern Stumpenhorst also broke the low hurdle record. Jim Hesman broke the 880 and mile records. We also regret to say that there were two accidents this season. Bothpole vaulters received sprained wrists in the course of the season.
