candor:-Semin z?mzguet The Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom was held April 29,1961, inthe Blue Hill High School Auditorium which was decorated to depict a Southern scene. The West end of the auditorium was decorated as the front of a Southern mansion, The auditorium was decorated as a garden in front of the mansion, A fountain in the garden added much color to the outdoor atmosphere. The guests enjoyed a Southern meal of Mint Julep, Southern Fried Chicken, Whipped Potatoes, Candied Yams, Corn Bread, Black Eyed Peas, Coffee and Milk, Strawberry Shortcake, Salted Nuts and Mints, which was served by the sophomores who were in Negro attire. While they dined, background music added to the splendor of the setting. The Royal Couple, Mary Jones and Allen Rose were crowned by their attendants, Norma Hesman and Vern Stumpenhorst. The Royal Couple was entertained by the slaves: Marie Witte, Elberta Toepfer, Sandra Corner, Donna Hesman, Barbara Jahn, Evelyn Baohman, Dale Thomas, Dale Hartman, Conrad Baohman, Roger Kort, Rusty Partridge, and Jerry Frahm. Senior: 66444 pal? On November 15, the senior class presented The Remarkable Incident At Carson Corners . This was a play depicting the lives of the citizens of a small town. The enactment of a trial, held by high school students in an effort to find those who were to blame for the death of their class- mate, had a surprise ending. All who were present confessed to a part in the unfortunate incident. The play was presented not in the usual three acts but rather in one continuous movement. The stage setting was not the customary living room scene. Rather, it was bare except for that equipment needed in a court room.
