Watch the birdie, Dave. •Vr , jCtJ Dedicated to Mr. C. Rex Scarbrough MR. SCARBROUGH After 43 years of teaching in our community Mr. C. Rex Scarbrough is retiring. A graduate of Grover Hill High School and Ohio Northern University, he began his teaching career in a one-room school in the Grover Hill District where he taught all eight grades for two years. He then moved to the Haviland District which later was ' consolidated into the Blue Creek District where he taught industrial arts until his retiring. Mr. Scarbrough coached basketball and baseball for 20 of the 41 years that he spent in the district. Many of his teams were among the top- rated teams in the area. This yearbook is dedicated to you, Mr. Scarbrough, in appreciation not only for all the work you have done for our school, but also for the inspiration and guidance that you have given us. New Superintendent The 1968-69 school year began with an en- tirely new administration. Sitting in the Super- intendent ' s chair was Mr. Raymond E. Roughton, Jr. , better known as Todd. Mr. Roughton re- ceived his A. B. Degree from Defiance College and an M.Ed. Degree from Bowling Green State University. Besides handling the job of head ad- ministrator, Mr. Roughton teaches Spanish 1 and II. Mr. Roughton and his wife, Donna, reside in Oakwood, Ohio, where he was previously prin- cipal of the Oakwood High School. We hope this year has proved to be a success- ful one for you, Mr. Roughton, and that the memories of your first year at Blue Creek will be happy ones. Mr. Roughton as a teacher. MR. PHILLIP TROUT PrincipaVs Office Has New Leader Mr. Phillip Trout is also new this year. He holds a B. S. and an M. A. Degree in Education from Ball State University. Besides being our principal, he is the athletic director, 9th grade coach, and sponsor of the Blue Creek student council and F. T. A. This year Blue Creek held its first Home- coming on Friday, February 14. The Senior class sponsored the activities of the evening.
