BEST CITIZENS Barbara Laukhnf, John Tinlin Class History Back in 1948, two groups of frightened first graders started their long journey through the Haviland- Scott, and Latty Schools. They advanced through the first six grades of the two old memory-filled school buildings. They entered junior high in 1954 under the direction of Mrs. Phipps in the seventh grade, and Mr. Motter in the beautiful new school building in the eighth grade. In 1957, we entered high school as confused freshmen. That year we had 42 in our class, with Mr. Motter as our class advisor. During the year we lost Louise Caps, Bertha Caps, Jerry Lytle, Jenny Greenwade, but we gained Emmit Leeth, Charles Williamson, Doyal Harris, LeRoy Mock, a)id Reggie Jordan. In 1958, we entered the school year as educated sophomores. This year we had 36 in our class with Mr. Smith as our advisor. This year we lost Carol Adams, Sarah Whitaker, LeRoy Mock, James Lytle, Melanie Ruckles, and Edna Adkins. This year we had no gains. In 1959, most of us began the junior year at the age of sweet sixteen. This year we had 30 in our class, but lost Barbara Hammond, Margaret Schlegel, Ruth Adkins, Gerald Stoller, Robert Kupfersmith, Douglas Stoller, Ruby Burk. This year we had one new student, Martha Heffner. Our advisor this year was Miss Robison In 1960, ive entered our last year at Blue Creek. We had 30 students with Mr. Bisbee as our advisor. This year we gained Diane Pabst and Ronnie Willianis, and had no losses. We had a very enjoyable year, having our senior class play, preparing for our class trip, making the yearbook, and other activities . I am sure these hvelve years will be remembered always by the class of ' 61. BY: JIMR. BRIAN Calendar 19. 20. 26. 17. 20. 21. 25. 27. 1. 4. 10. 18. 21. 23. 2. 6. 9. 16. 17. 19. 22. Class Prophecy We interrupt this program to bring you a special news coverage concerning the 1961 graduating seniors of Blue Creek High School. We wisli to thank the Galaxy syndicate who relinquished this time to have this program presented. In New York, the Three Big Stooges , consisting of James Brian, Richard Sinn, and Jean Foust, have smashed Broadway with their comedy routine. Their manager, Dale Boroff, says that they will make an appearance here on the home scene on April Fools ' Day. In Blue Creeksville, U.S.A. , Daniel Dannio Hartwick is the new rock and roll sen- sation after coming out with his new record, The Comet Twist . Robert Gray, owner of Gary ' s Bee Products, has developed a new type of bee product. This delicacy, which is outselling bee honey, is called chocolate covered bees. His top laboratory technician, Larry Boroff, is credited with much of the research, in developing this product. The noted tenor soloist, Reginald Jordan, has signed a contract with Radio City Music Hall in New York. The Metropolitan Opera House wants to feature Reginald in the well- known opera, The Bartered Bride , which will be presented next week. The Miss Moon Girl of the Year title has been won by Linda Rhinehalt. Her popular- ity ivas due greatly to the fact that she made so many friends among the moon people during her visits there last summer. Helmut Breitwieser has just returned from Paris with his many models. Helmut has been traveling across country showing his masterpiece which brought him world recognition as a painter. His chief model, Marlene Miller, posed for this portrait which he called Mama Lena. We have just received a flash bulletin from Florida! Jack Hungate, the world-famous scientist, has just discovered a cure for Spring Fever . Jack stated in an interview that he received much help from his assistant, Joanne Ashbaugh. He says that the cure will not be announced for about ten more years. Barbara Laukhuf, the world ' s shorthand champion, will be giving lessons in shorthaml technique at the Latty Town Hall for the next two weeks. Nobody has been able to top Barbara ' s record of 300 w.p. m. (Can you?) Susan Cadwallader is currently making a movie on the planet Venus. Her leading man, of course, is John Tinlin. Justin Holtsberry, the multimillionaire, is producer-director of the movie. Marie Yoh and Diane Pabst are planning to open a department store in the booming town of Scott, Ohio. They are employing Ronnie Williams, the world ' s leading hair stylist, to head the salon department. News flash from Washington! Two more important posts have been filled. John Gehres has been appointed as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Treasury Department will be headed by Richard Boroff. Richard ' s only qualification was that he has liked to liandle money ever since he was a little boy. Annette Rice, Colleen Myers, Martha Heffner, and Janet Rinebolt, better known as the Four Traveling Economists , have returned from a trip abroad after making a tour of the leading dress shops of Paris. Colleen, who is the spokeswoman for the group, stated that they ivere pleased with the space-age hemlines that the Parisians were wearing. In the sports neivs, well-known Ft. Wayne Speedway star, Robert Rodman, has broken his own record. His mechanic, Dean Mees, said that Robert made a spectacular finish by having to pusli his car over the finish line after it ran out of gas ! Minnie Sinn has been signed to the Ail-American Girls ' Basketball team, the Moon- Trotters. Minnie received great fame after she made a long shot; that is, she threw a ball while on Venus a id made a basket on Mars. That ' s all the neivs for noiv. Tune in again next year, same time, same station, for another special neivs coverage. Until then, this is your reporter, Sandra Phillips, return- ing you to your regidar program. (.(.
