SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the year 1956, we entered Blue Creek High School as green freshmen. We elected our class officers as follows: president, Karen Zielke; vice-president, Rita Sheehan; secretary, Sharon Weisman; treasurer, Fred Book. Our class advisor was Mr. Roger Stuckey. The class enrollment was 43 at the beginning of the year, but we lost Freda Howard, leaving us with 42. The next fall, we came back to Blue Creek with 30 in our class, as silly sophomores. The officers that year were: president, Carl Laukhuf; vice-president, Roger Basil; secretary, Karen Zielke; treasurer, Floyd Foust. During the course of the year we lost Sandra Ahlers, Rita Sheehan, Carolyn Lytle, Deanna Hartwig, Emmett Leeth, Charles Williamson, Donald Clemens, Fred Her, Weldon Adkins, Doyle Harris, Charles Hockenberry, Allan Williamson, and Jean Capps. Our class advisor was Mr. Stuckey. Thirty returned the next fall as jolly juniors. We had a new member, Sharon Fortman, added to our class. Later during the year, we lost Roy Jewell and Sharon Fortman. Our class officers were: president, Ellen Riggenbach; vice-president, Karen Faust; secretary, Brenda Rager; treasurer, Fred Book. Our class advisor was Mr. Darwood. Our class play was I Was a Teen-Age Dracula , directed by Mr. Leslie Ratliff. The long awaited time had finally arrived when we came back as sophisticated sen- iors. We gained Naomi Wallace, but lost Robert Doster, leaving us with a total of 30 in our class. The officers chosen for our last year in high school were as follows: president, Karen Faust; vice-president, Eugene Lehman; secretary, Marilyn Ben- dele; treasurer, Fred Book. Our class advisor was Mr. Darwood. Our class play was Off the Track , directed by Miss Margaret Robison. Our class colors were black and silver and the class flower a red carnation. Thus ends our four years of high school. We had many glad times and many sad times, but it was a lot of fun. Class Officers Class Advisor Vice-President: Eugene Lehman Reporter: Edwin Cavinder President: Karen Faust Treasurer: Fred Book Secretary: Marilyn Bendele Mr. Darwood SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY Good evening! This is your announcer, Peggy Williams of television station BCHS. We take great pleasure in presenting this program, which is a special edition of world and domestic news concerning the 1960 graduates of Blue Creek High School. We wish to thank Floyd Foust, the manager of the Kroger Store in Van Wert, Ohio, for relinquishing their usual program and sponsoring the program that is to be seen at this time. Lowell DeVore, the world-famous explorer, and his assistant, John Ganger, have recently returned to the U. S. after visiting some newly discovered islands. They brought with them a new species of animals which are under observation at Harvard University by a group of biologists and one of the main professors, Roger Basil. It seems a new planet has been discovered by the famous astronomer, Carl Laukhuf, and his assistant, Brenda Rager. They call it Temoc. (Comet backwards. ) The world has been shocked with the news of the marriage of Migsa Lapha Lisopen to Marsha Mumma, who has decided to settle down at least for a short time. While on one of her travels, she fell in love and married a prince in Saudi-Arabia plus a fortune of gold and diamonds. Jim Huebner, the owner of a large restaurant in Latty, Ohio, has recently em- ployed the world-famous cook, Kathryn Monroe, who won recognition as a chef in the Copa Cabana in New York City. A well-known author, Sharon Weisman, is on a world-wide tour seeking informa- tion for another book which will probably be a sequel to her latest which was titled, The Many Moon Men of My Life . It is at the present time being made into a movie starring Miss Glamour Girl of the Year, Gloria Cowell. Here is a special bulletin from the Fort Wayne Hospital, where an up-and-coming doctor, Dale Dunham, has performed a major operation which has proved successful; however, the patient is not expected to live. Dale stated that he had received a great deal of help from his special technician, Karen Zielke. It was announced today that multimillionaire, Clifford Tarlton, has bought the Ford Motor Company. It seems Clifford had a disagreement with the plant engineers and bought the plant so he could fire them. Charlotte Sperry, owner of a large department store in Haviland, has employed America ' s leading fashion expert, Karen Faust, and her assistants, Naomi Wallace, Carol Moyer, and Karen Leonard, are so good that their originals are being copied by Paris designers. The famous quartet, The Dazzling Dishwashers consisting of Paula Sinn, Celesta Covey, Marilyn Bendele, and Beverly Groves, are now giving a two-week appearance at the Scott Town Hall. Tickets are on sale now. Buy yours soon! They ' re going fast! ! In the political field, there is a hot race for U. S. Senatorship between candi- dates Myrna Miller and Fred Book. Here is great news for the farmers; Eugene Lehman, well-known agriculturist, who resides near Scott, Ohio, has recently developed a new type of soybean which has an increase yield over former types. Now the sports edition: At the Indianapolis Speedway, Ellen Hot Rod Riggenbach, set a new track record with the racer that was designed by Janet Tyas. The mechanic, Ed Cavinder, had to perform minor repairs after the fifteenth lap, however, through Riggenbach ' s skill she was able to gain back the lost time and win the race. FLASH! !
