Senior Class History We, the Blue Creek Senior Class of '59, entered high school in 1956, as over-confident freshmen. There was a total of forty-one in our class. Our class officers were, president, Roger Eisenmanng vice-president, Gloria Stollerg treasurer, Nancy Gerber, and secretary, Carol Gunderman. The year proved to be a success under the supervision of our advisor, Mr. Jay. In the fall of '57 we returned to school as skeptical sophomores. We entered the year with a total of forty-one students. This year we lost three classmates, Richard Akom, Gordon Harris, and Linda Pugh, but the loss balanced with a gain of three students, James Swanson, Gerald Saco, and Paul Perl. Our class officers were, president, Joan Williamson, vice-president, William Niswander, treasurer, Roland Gangerg and secretary, Nancy Mees. The year was a profitable one with the supervision of our advisor, Mr. Scarbrough. The next year we entered as weary and confused juniors. There was a total of thirty students after losing twelve. They were Ronald Hunter, Deanna Hartwig, Carolyn Baker, Shirley Lytle, Roy Jewell, Robert Burke, Glenard Goings, LeRoy Gillett, Otto Schlatter, Carlos Tyas, Jim Swanson, and Raymond Webster. We gained three students, Sandra White, Joyce Jordon, and Ronald Eisenmann. The class officers were, president, Robert Waldron, vice-president, Charles Holtsberry, treasurer, Roland Gangerg and secretary, Nancy Mees. Our financial standing in- creased considerably with the assistance of our advisor Miss Rodgers. 0 The next fall we entered our senior year, the year we all had long awaited. We had a total of twenty-nine students after losing Marilyn Taylor, Ruth Ann Kupfersmith, Robert Waldron, and Herbert Phillips. Our class officers were, president, Larry Colley, vice-president, Charles Holtsberry, treasurer, Linda Houseworth, and secretary, Marie Fast. We looked forward to our senior trip, which was sure to be a success with the assistance of our advisor, Miss Rodgers. Y fo The Galaxy Staff of 1959 dedicate the Galaxy to our parents, teachers, and all those who in any Way have enabled us to reach this point in our lives. Their guidance, encouragement, and co-operation have given us the desire to strive for higher goals. Because they understood our problems, assisted us with patience, listened to our complaints, inspired us with confidence, and encouraged us when we were disheartenedg they have promoted our chances for success. Our appreciation for their various contributions can never be express- ed by words alone. One of our most precious high school memories is their determined effort to make us satisfied and happy. -d K Senior Class Prophecy I, Diana Keysor, while enroute to Columbus in the spring of 1970, trying to sell my famous Hollywood cosmetics, happened to pass through a town called Utopia fThe Perfect Placel. When entering the corporation limits I happened to see a sign pointing to Ganger's Hangers . The owner, Roland Ganger, seems to be doing quite well for himself. As I went on down the street, I passed a service station. Glancing at a sign which said, Gerald's Gas . I guess Gerald Saco has made a big name for himself. Before I got into town, I saw a modern school. which brought back many memories. Pulling off to the side of the street, Inoticed two adults coming out of the school. Noticing that they looked familiar, I got out of my car to talk to them. They surely did look familiar: Nancy Mees and Janet Laukhuf. I soon learned that Janet was the principal of the school, which was an all-boys' school, and Nancy was the head teacher. Continuing on, I stopped at a red light. I glanced across the street and saw a sign- The Mayor's Office . Larry Colley certainly has made an improvement in politics since he was president of the senior class in high school. The sign also said that Joyce Jordan was employed there as Mayor Colley's private secretary. Turning left, I happened to see a tall slim man. He was heading toward an office building called Topper's Law Firm . Seeing this, I realized it must be Charles Holtsberry, an old classmate of mine. As I motored on looking for a parking lot, I saw a man yelling and motioning for me to park in his lot. I saw it was Vaughn Schlegel, an old friend. It seems he owns the bowling alley next door and has to furnish his own parking lot. He has a booming business! I parked my car and walked across the street. There was a neat and appealing restaurant. The big neon sign was lighted and was flickering on and off. It read Jeannette's Dinnette . I remember, that when I was in school, Jeannette Rice was always noted for her good food. When walking into the restaurant I saw Shirley Lytle, a waitress, and Rebecca Hofacker a short order cook. After I was seated, I glanced out the window and saw a store with a big sign in front saying Comer's Clothing Store--Gloria Stoller, model . I always knew Harold Comer had it in him, and I always thought Gloria had the poise of a model. Thinking that while I was in town I might as well get my hair cut, I asked Rebecca where to go. It was then Ifound out Dean Groves and LaDonna Pease had opened a barber shop and beauty salon together. While getting my hair cut, Dean told me Marie Fast was running a home for bachelors and that Joan Williamson was teaching the evolution of men to all the bachelors. I knew she was going to college, but to teach at a bachelors home? He also told me that Sandra White was the maid at the home. She always did like to take care of the men. Getting back into my car I glanced down the street and saw a modern hospital. Seeing it was very modern, I decided to drive down and take a look. As I went into the hospital, I saw a sign on a door saying, Linda Houseworth, Medical Doctor . She always was a genius in all her science cou.rses. Walking on down the corridor, I saw another door saying Russell Mclntosh, Baby Doctor . I also was surprised to see the gorgeous babe working in his office was Nancy Gerber, Registered Nurse. Just as I was leaving the hospital, I noticed a door that was ajar. Looking in I saw Carol Gunderman, the Laboratory Technician. Knowing it wa, getting late, I decided to spend the night at a hotel. Looking around, I saw a beautiful white building saying, Ronnie's Hotel . Going in and registering, I found out that Ronnie Eisenmann owned the hotel and was doing quite well. In my hotel room I noticed a small kitchen. Thinking I might have a midnight snack before I went to bed, I decided to go to a store. Putting on my coat I realized there might not be any stores open. But sure enough as I got out of the hotel, right across the street was a grocery and it was open too! Walking across the street, I looked at the name of the store--- Paul's Grocery . As Iwalked into the store there was Paul Perl, an old classmate, with his thumb on the butcher scales. Getting up the next morning and realizing it was Sunday, I didn't have to get to Columbus until the next day, I decided to-go to church. Driving around, I saw a quaint little church. As Iwent in, the minister had already begun. Looking at the minister I realized it was William Niswander. Iwas so happy that his dream of becoming a minister had come true. Continuing on my way after church, I reached the corporation limits of town, then I noticed a huge elevator which had the name, Eisemnann Grain, Inc. Roger surely has done well for himself. Going on, I noticed a big house. The sign at the lane said, Floyd McDougal, Auctioneer . Floyd always did have trouble keeping his mouth shut. After going down the road a few miles more, not paying any attention to what I was doing, I happened to glance through the rear view mirror and noticed a black car coming up behind me. Seeing he had a little red blinker on the top of his car--and it was blinking--I decided to pull over to the side of the road. As the state patrolman came up to my car, he asked to see my license. Giving it to him, and after reading it, he asked me if I had gone to a school called Blue Creek. I told him Iwas in the graduation class of 1959. Looking at him more closely, I realized it was my old classmate Cecil Foust. Please don't get the wrong impression that I didn't know Cecil, but you wouldn't know him either if your hair was missing like his. After driving about two hours more, I saw a sign which read, Columbus, twelve miles . I was happy that I had taken the time to look up my old classmates. I'm sure they were surprised to see me, for surely Iwas to see them. Diana Keysor fr- -.-.u---7- -... l Senior Class Will We, the Class of 1959, of misleading mind and wandering memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be our last will and testament, hereby, revoking and making well and void all former wills heretofore made. We, the Senior Class, direct that all debts and damages due to our class be accounted for by the class of 1960, after our departure. To the faculty, we leave our fondest wishes and very sincere thanks for the many favors they have given us and hope that they will remember us for giving them some pleasant experiences. To the Junior Class, we will our ability to always conduct orderly class meetings with few argu- ments. fWe hope you don't take this seriously.J To the silly sophomores, we bequeath our ability to always stick together and always come to some decision, even if it does come to knocks and blows. To the freshmen, we bequeath our ability to always stay out of trouble in order to give the school a good name. We bequeath our individual abilities as follows: I, Larry Colley, will my ability to get good grades to Jack Htmgate. HI, Harold Comer, will my old spelling words back to Mr. Ratliff. I, Roger Eisenmann, will ten safety pins to anyone who jumps in Floyd's Buick by the right front door. I, Ronald Eisenmann, will my fountain pen to Gerald Stoller because he used it more than I did. I, Marie Fast, will my ability to be gone practically every night during the school year to Barbara Latikhuf. Make good use of it Barbara - it's lots of fun! I, Cecil Foust, will my ability to bowl 199 to Dale Dunham. I, Roland Ganger, will my old lunch bucket to Nancy Gerber, in memory of the time I hit you over the head with it back in the first grade. Please accept my apology, but remember you sure did get good grades after that. I, Nancy Gerber, will my quietness and polite manners to Lynn Mohr. Ihope you'll learn to use them better than I did. I, Dean Groves, will my ability to shoot a jump shot to Ed Cavinder. I, Carol Gunderman, will a needle and some thread to Linda Colley, Let's hope you don't have the same trouble I had in the pep rally! I, Rebecca Hofacker, will a bright red apple to Mr. Ratliff, and I hope he can eat it without being interrupted. I, Charles Holtsberry, will my bench warming ability to Bob Gray. I, Linda Houseworth, and I, Gloria Stoller, will our disability to be picture managers of the year- book and hot have the ability to lay out pages to anyone who is dumb enough to take it. I, Joyce Jordan, and I, Diana Keysor, will to the future librarians of 1960, to have as much fun as we have had during the whole year in fourth period study hall and we hope that Mr. Smith doesn't have as much trouble with them as he did with us. I, Janet Laukhuf, will my ability to miss ten foul shots in a row to Minnie Sinn. That's a sure way of winning! I, Shirley Lytle, being of questionable sound mind, due to four years of high school, will my best shoe to Peggy Williams, hoping that she'll put her best foot forward. I, Nancy Mees, being of sound mind, will my broken saxophone mouth piece to Dawn Bartles and Connie Tope. I hope you will be able to use it as well as I did. I, Bill Niswander, will my band music to my brother Dick, learn to play better than I did. I, Paul Perl, will my ability to eat jelly beans in Mr. Darwood's bookkeeping class and not get caught to Ruth Adkins. I, Jeannette Rice, being of sound mind, will my job in the cafeteria to Kathryn Monroe. Watch those extra helpings! I, Gerald Saco, will my ability to be quiet to my brother, John. I, Vaughn Schlegel, will my spelling words back to Mr. Ratliff. I, Sandra White, will my ability to bake cherry pie for the Paulding guys to Marsha Mumma.
