CLASS HISTORY Twelve years ago-September 1941-we, as bright eyed little pupils sat up straight in our desks-eager to find out about this new experience we were entering into. We were probably the most excited we had ever been in all our six years. At last we were starting to school ! Oh! that first year! What a vast amount of knowledge we had toacquire and discipline-well-we had to learn the hard way. But we survived and were more experienced when the school bell tolled for our second year. Of course each had his own special friend, but with the passing of years, these friends changed as many moved away and we added new faces. When we reached the eighth grade we really felt big- we were going to be in high school. Some of our bright members jumped a grade ahead of us and graduated last year. We hated to lose them too, but we would have probably done the same if we had been as intellig ent. | Ninth Grade-We were actually in High School, but when we got there we felt rather small after seeing all these older people around us. And of course we went around in circles trying to find the right rooms, but rooms were not as much of a problem as those looked-up too, yet disliked, dignified Seniors. But we weathered it, and by the end of the year we were already making plans for the next years’ Freshmen Class. Our Sophomore year we were really learning things. The girls were getting crushes on the older boys and the boys in our class were learning there were cute girls in school too. We were very proud of our class and the work we had done. Several members were on the basketball team and for those we felt honored because they were Sophomores! The Junior year had come and by then we knew there was something to school besides a lot of fun- it meant work and thats what we did. To raise money for the Junior-Senior Banquet we had square dances and we also gave the Junior Play. Our work was not in vain because the Banquet turned out very niceand was enjoyed byall. But the thing we enjoyed most that year was the trip to Washington which we made with the Seniors. : Finally! we are Dignified Seniors and we are proud of the way we have learned to work together. But most of all, we are very grateful to all the wonderful teachers we have had, that have helped to make us what we are. Now aswe begin to prepare for that big day-Graduation-we wish to say, Blow- ing Rock School has been fun and a lot of hard work, but with our joys and sorrows during school we look back on B.R.H.S. with affection wishing the best to our dear ole' Alma-Mater.
