Red, Whire, and Rowdie During rhe 1963 64 school rerm, school spirit wos very evident or DHS. Even though we didn't come in 1 in every activity, rhe spirit of enthusiasm ond pride wos shown throughout the year. Pep rollies give students the opportunity to cheer their teom on. ond to show rhe teom thot they core, ond ore behind them 100%. Several different groups help to moke the pep rollies successful. The cheerleaders lead the students to fire the teom up to meet the rivals heodon. The drill teom shows spirit through march ond donee routines. The DHS Morching Bond combines school spirit ond enthusiasm to morivore rhe ream with music. Eoch student is invited to participate in the pep rollies by wearing red ond whire. The colors red ond white or DHS stand for PRIDE At rhe end of eoch pep roily, the students unite in singing the Almo Morer. showing our common love for DHS. Feeling A Tale of Trends During Spirit Week, o special day wos set aside to give everyone o chance to punk out.” Many students (who up until punk doy were considered normal) come to school with colored hair, wild makeup, and indescribable clothes. Although there wos only one punk doy this year, some students felt punky all year round. Muscle shirts, vans, and mini-skirts were among the styles worn by many students. A few even got punk haircuts to top off their look. '64 wos definitely the year for feeling punky!
