Well, there could be several things that could cause tiredness. This critical condition could occur because the school day hos been increased fifteen minutes ond olso o seventh period hos been added. Why would just fifteen minutes couse this tired feeling? Well, if you multiply fifteen minutes by one hundred-eighty school days, you will come up with on unbelieveoble two-thousand seven-hundred minutes. Thor odds up to on extra forty five more hours of school than whor you, the students ond faculty or BHS ore used to. Now, if you ore walking down' the halls ond you see o body with o very tired face on it, you will understand why ond just feel sorry for that poor, tired, soul. Red, Whire, and Rowdie During rhe 1963 64 school rerm, school spirit wos very evident or DHS. Even though we didn't come in 1 in every activity, rhe spirit of enthusiasm ond pride wos shown throughout the year. Pep rollies give students the opportunity to cheer their teom on. ond to show rhe teom thot they core, ond ore behind them 100%. Several different groups help to moke the pep rollies successful. The cheerleaders lead the students to fire the teom up to meet the rivals heodon. The drill teom shows spirit through march ond donee routines. The DHS Morching Bond combines school spirit ond enthusiasm to morivore rhe ream with music. Eoch student is invited to participate in the pep rollies by wearing red ond whire. The colors red ond white or DHS stand for PRIDE At rhe end of eoch pep roily, the students unite in singing the Almo Morer. showing our common love for DHS. One short description of school spirit which con be summed up in one phrose is: ’Win or Lose, it's the TIGERS we choose! Feeling That Tiger Spirit! Feeling A Tale of Trends During Spirit Week, o special day wos set aside to give everyone o chance to punk out.” Many students (who up until punk doy were considered normal) come to school with colored hair, wild makeup, and indescribable clothes. Although there wos only one punk doy this year, some students felt punky all year round. Muscle shirts, vans, and mini-skirts were among the styles worn by many students. A few even got punk haircuts to top off their look. '64 wos definitely the year for feeling punky! Bur this has been no ordinary year, ond with ir no ordinary group of students. Change is the word that would describe the 1983-84 school year best Adding o seventh period to our doy seemed, or first, a hassle, but we adopted ourselves quickly with the help of study holl. The loss of our main building ond annex building was o very difficult situation to handle, but the faculty ond students of B.H S. were not to be token lightly In no rime, the school was running smoothly without the two buildings.«| Although these physical changes were the easiest to notice, there was still one more change: the students. Everyone of us has changed in one way or another. The freshmen ore now ready for their sophomore year when they can laugh at the freshmen. The sophomores are sensing the spirit and responsibility they will use as juniors. The juniors rejoice at the thought of being seniors. But the biggest change was the seniors. The seniors sacrificed much to help later students have a nicer school. There are too many situations and feelings too complicated to be expressed by words, bur we all know the feelings. A year from now another class of seniors will have these some feelings. And after rhor another. Life will go on with all its change.
