I Ibv mk I ADMINISTRATION CLASSES ORGANIZATIONS ACTIVITIES JR. HIGH ELEMENTARY ADVERTISEMENTS 2 3 4 Each year the characters are the same — but yet they are different. They are young people whose lives are being molded by the experiences they share. They are the future. 5 Within these students’ reach lies the potential for success or failure. It is the responsibility of each character to decide the role he or she will play. It is the combination of these roles that determines the plot. 6 7 8 There is challenge for the daring, intrigue for the curious, adventure for the venturesome 9 Fade in on the sound of noisy hallways; Picture students running down the stairs, 12 Hear the cheerleader’s encouraging yells. Capture the growing excitement, as the winning points come with the bell. 13 14 15 This year’s Sabertooth is brought to you by the 1979 Publication Staff. It was conceived and produced in the somewhat “whacky” minds of your classmates. But its stars are you — the students and faculty of Blountstown High School. We thought you ought to be in pictures. And you are! HOPE YOU ENJOY THE SHOW! I A SM i:s 16 Calhoun County School Board Don A. His duties are many and take him to classrooms, meetings, and school activities after hours. Here, Mr. Tomlinson leaves for home after another busy day. There are a few like elation, memorable, stupendous, or totally nuts. But these only begin to touch on the subject. The word senior is a verb, an action. One has to act it out or fit into it to experience the ups and downs, the joys, the emotions, and the reactions. All these things are being and becoming a senior. One very important part of senior life is the senior class sponsors who make all the senior activities possible. The ’79 seniors have been involved in many projects, including donut sales, car washes, bake sales, and the senior-faculty volleyball game. None of these successful projects would have been possible without the advice and aid of our sponsors. Our sponsors have not only been teachers, they have been friends. They were someone to share problems, achievements, and goals with. They were always ready and willing to help or just listen whenever they could. It begins with anticipation and apprehension, but when it’s over everyone agrees that the excitement was worth the “ride.” The 79 trip to Orlando will never be forgotten by those who toured The Magic Kingdom, Sea World, and Busch Gardens. 48 Senior 49 Graduatio 50 51 Like pieces of a puzzle that won’t interlock Yet attracted to each other like the tick to the tock Different personalities both clinging to our own But reaching for each other ’til one of us is down Attempt to mold our puzzle pieces to fit comfortably side by side It doesn’t work. We still can’t fit not to say we haven’t tried Time ahead will call to us To go o ir separate ways We promise to remember and meet in future days The puzzle fits together in Life’s reality Though we're not near each other hand-in-hand we’ll always be. Being a Junior means a special year ahead. Playing Ring around ‘‘The Man.” And dancing around Devestation. Being a Junior means lots of hard work. Not only the Prom, but selling magazines, too. In order to treat the Seniors to their own private fantasy, the Juniors put on a one-time only show on April 13. All these things and more can be said of the annual supper given by the faculty, as a farewell salute to the graduating class. For once, everyone forgets that they are “students” and “teachers,” and remembers that they are friends who have struggled together for the long-awaited goal of every student — graduation.
