ff? fs' 8 s his Principal EARL E. HAMILTON A.B., M.A., Advanced Post Graduate University of Florida ALMA MATER lAdaptedD Our strong band can ne'er be broken It can ne'er die, Far surpassing wealth unspoken, Sealed by Friendships tie. CHORUS Lift the chorus ever onward, lift it to the sky! Hail to thee, our Alma Mater, Hail to Blountstown High. Mem'ry's leaflets close shall twine, Around our hearts for aye, And waft us back o'er life's broad track, To pleasures long gone by. High School Life is swiftly passing, Soon its days are done 'But while we live we'll ever cherish Friendships here begun. To our student body: V Man from the beginning of time has been struggling to master his enviroment. Upon his ability to control his environmental health and safety hazards depends life itself. The complexity of modern living has made it necessary for the citizen and his govern- ment to share the responsibility of providing a safe and healthful place in which to live. Boys and girls who are in school today will be voting and tax paying citizens of tomorrow. They will be paying taxes to aid in the support of governmental health and safety activities, Youth also faces many problems of personal and social adiustment. Those growing out of boy and girl and family relationships are among the most vital and sometimes the most difficult. No one is expected to be able to enter a profession or skilled employment without having been prepared for the experience, but little, if any, preparation is given the young people for the two vocations which will occupy most of them, that is, family life and community life. Of all the needs of youth those which relate to survival values must be considered fundamental. Though we have long considered the home the very foundation of American Democracy, the school and church have only recently concerned themselves with such vital problems. As teachers we seek to develop attitudes and understandings which will motivate stu- dents to adopt ways of living which will lead to health, enduring satisfaction, and skillful living. An informed, intelligent citizen is one of the strongest bulwarks of democracy. It is to this all important cause that this article is contributed. Sincerely, Earl Hamilton In the one short year that Mr. Hamilton has been our principal, he has endeared himself to eve senior and underclassmen by his careful guidance, enduring patience, and rare good fellowshl The Class of '51 believes that Blountstown High School will make great progress with such leader as Mr. Hamilton at its helm.
