Senior Class Play The Seniors of 1955 presented as their class play a three-act comedy by Gregory Johnston called Curtain Going Up Irs Swearingen class adviser directed the play which was presented on Friday evening April 22nd in the school auditorium The play was a new one and told in comic terms the story of the production of a high school play from the choosing of the cast until the final curtain The play was mst unusual in its staging and the clever plot furnished many laughs for the capacity audience The cast of the play, in order of appearance was as follows Anthony Peterson 'Tony' the janitor Tom Oller llsie Hunter a typical Senior lancy Kirgis Janet Young a giggling hero worshipper Carol Savial Buck O'lara the athletic type woman shy Jack Schueler lancy Leveridge used to having her own way lancy Scheerer lilt Sanders a bundle of adolescent energ Don Hclleal VA l Jocko Guthrie the boy with 'the biggest line' Larry Howell A. Loretta Fuller popular with everyone Donna Dunlap Andrew lullbridxt I-orry's bewildered boyfriend George loss lies Irene Burgess coaching her first play Wanda Caldwell Sylvia Moore, another typical Senior laribelle Ohivington Joan White her inseparable friend lsrjgrie 1.1-ug lddie Burns ready for anything 1441. '!aT' lies Henrietta Rivers the Senior adviser Jane Iarcher H' 1 Kyle Roberts a professional actor out of work Bob Bulg- llr Levsridge la.noy's ambitious father lg1v1n gun, av Hrs Young Janet's moths Jann pink., AJ 1-sf O M Junior Senior Ban uet M F The theme of the Junior-Senior banquet this year was Q lvening in Paris' The menu decorations and entertainment beautifully and artistically carried out this theme A program was prepared by the Juniors and was enjoyed by everyone The banquet a semi formal affair was held on Saturday night lay 15th and was 4,1 again served at the school 've Senior Class Trip This year the Seniors decided that they would like to see the scenery of the country throuya which they passed so they left Tiffin by B 6 O train long before daylight on Thursday morning lay 19 1955 They arrived in lash ington late that afternoon in time for dinner That evening they enjoyed a two hour bus ride around Washington including a visit to the Washington Airport They stayed all night at the Congressional Hotel and spent the next day visit ing some of the most important buildings in Washington They also visited Arl lngton Iational Cemetery where they witnessed the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and enjoyed the trip through beautiful Mount Ver- non Then on to New York dining on the train, and arriving there after dark on Friday evening Their base of operations in New York was the Paramount Hotel Three full days were spent in sightseeing trips to television and radio stu dies shopping baseball games and picturetaking The Seniors left New York on Monday evening lay 23 and they arrived in Tiffin the next morning where they were greeted by friends and families They were all tired weary and broke but everyone agreed that the trip had been worth all that it had cost both in ef fort and in money Chaperones on the trip were lr and Hrs Henry Swearingen -diff Baccalaureate 81 Commencement Baccalaureate services were held in the school auditorium on Sunday even ing, lay 15 1955 The processional was played by Jean Lelbengood and vocal music was furnished by members of the music department The sermon was preach ed by the minister ef one of the local churches Comencement exercises took place on Thursday evening lay 26 1955 he traditional 'Pomp and Circumstance' was played as an instrumental processional lusic was furnished by members of the graduating class Ruth Wilhelm was class salutaterian and Wanda Caldwell was valedictorian The speaker for this occa sion was lr John I Brown Lieutenant Governor of the State of Ohio Compliments of SIIIICA OOUITY IABII BURIAU COOPIRATIVI ASSOCIATION Tiffin, Ohio 18 R 9 . . It is the year 1975, the twentieth reunion of the Class of 1955 The reunion is taking place in the Moonlight Ballroom of Bloomville High School B H S is now the most modern school in the United States the second being Bakersfield High in California The music tonight is being furnished by a former classmate, Don McNeal Don is known national ly as the 'Liberace of the Saxophonen Don is still a confirmed bachelor What's that terrible noise? looking out of the window we see a battered old blue Henry J come chugging up the road as it stops in front of the school we see that it is lancy Kirgis who driven all the way from California just to see her classmates again Nancy tells us that she is ing the fan mail for 'Wild Bill Hickok who happens to be her favorite star Fancy has made her dream of living in California come true Here comes our Senior Queen, Donna Dunlap better known now as Mrs Paul Stover Donna was e first girl of the class to be married She is very happy, and has two little stoves to prove Call the cops! Here comes a real live human cannibal' It's coming closer 1t's coming n' lell of course now we recognize her It's Wanda Caldwell! She surely looks different with a ring in her nose and a bone in her hair, but that's only natural for Wanda came all the way from africa just to see us She tells u the people over there call her the 'Goddess of the Skokean for- got to tell you Wanda teaches the Skokean dance to the South African Pygnies Now we hear a hotrod outside, a 1947 white lbrd belonging to Nancy Scheerer Queen of the Pow der Puff Derby She is married and has three little hotrodders Here comes another well known person, the manager of the Bull Farm You remember him as ry Howell He has broudxt along his wife the former Marvel Jean Kagy Since Larry was always ing mistakes in Bookkeeping he hired one of his classmates to keep the books for him Larry calls him the Einstein of Bookkeepingn but you know him better as Ed Lutz When Id makes a mistake and that 1sn't often he calls on the greatest mathematical genius of our high school days I' P Sieg- fried who with patience and wit taught us bookkeeping Don't tell me we're all hot rodders! But that noise, let's see what it is! There's a rocket ship landing and someone is getting out Why it's Jane Karcher! Jane tells us that she was the the name of Sky Queen Here comes the Ladies' Man of the class of '55 Bob Beeler Bob is known all over the United States where they have T V sets Bob is an advertiser for Helena Rubenstein's Ho Smear Lipstick The girls wear the lipstick and Bob kisses them to see if it comes off And here is the President of our class Wayne Hartschuh Wayne is still going at things in a big way by being the president of the largest bank in the world It is located right next to the White House and is called Luke's Savings Bank This reunion will surely be mentioned in the paper, because we have in attendance a reporter, none other than Joanna Rinker Joanna is the editor of the Bloomville Gazette and writes a special column called the Gabby Gabbers Another well known person about Bloomville who kept his talents at home is Tom Oller who has a Rexall Drug Store located right where Carl's used to be Tom calls the store 0llie's Drugs and Everything Else You Need Here is the owner of the largesl dairy farm in the world Don Ziegler The food was given to us by the Zieglers who butchered one of their best steers just so we could have T bone steaks another well known person around Bloomville is George Boss George is the owner of the Bloom- ville Block Plant which is noted for the best cement blocks in the United States with branches in Hong Kong Iceland and St Stephen If you ever make a long distance phone call to Chicago the person to take the call will be Ca- rol Savial, the president of the Bell Telephone Company in Chicago She handles all the calls from Bloomville, Just so she can visit with folks from her home town Attention: Here comes the Army in the person of Lt Margie Werts Margie just got back from a secret mission in Iceland The Eskimos had started to throw cement blocks at each other killing themselves I wonder where the blocks came from? And now the principal of this great school Ruth Wilhelm Mr Siegfried has long been retired and Ruth has taken over his classes Ruth says ChildI What under the linen? Melvin Smith is a famous wrestler on T V He holds the world's record of never having lost a decision He goes by the name of Sn1tty the Killer Jack Schueler is also a star on T V Jack is the tester of all the food that nobody else would dare eat If the freshmen can remember their initiation the stuff they had to walk through spag- hetti dogfood, etc , was tested first by Jack He wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt you Somebody is bringing in an old rocking chair Why it's Maribelle Chivington the only girl of the class who hasn't married Maribelle still plays the chimes for the I U B Church and has just written a hit song called 'I Am Waiting in the Chapel for You The reunion can start just as soon as Mr and Mrs S arrive and here they come Mrs S retired many years ago, but she is still teaching- her grandchildren that is It surely brings back good memories to see all of the old classmates again and to remember all the swell times we had getting into trouble at good old B H S I7 ' s o C5 e'- ' .O .L I 1. - , , I has . typ- , . . th ' - it. s v ' v 1 ' . , ' .
