Student Life By Ruby Schuon and Sherri Zechman 8:00 a.m. the alarm goes off. Oh no! I have an eight o ' clock class and my research paper is due! How familiar that sounds to college students. The element of rushing around from dorm to class and class to dorm is part of a student ' s life at BSC. A student is faced with attempting to organize his schedule from going to classes, working, and maintaining a fulfilling social life. One way students handle this juggling act of their lives is by enjoying the social life offered here at BSC. Partaking in the festive party atmosphere proves to be rewarding for meeting new people. Some festivities offered range from new wave parties, to beach parties with real sand. The Union offers a highlight to the daily activities of students. Billiards, bowling, pinball and video games, and ping pong are available. A snack can be enjoyed in the snack bar area, or one can talk and study with friends in the Presidents ' Lounge. The Union is the center of life for all on and off campus students. Most of all, BSC offers students a chance to live the kind of life they want. The unique student life offered can be found in friendships, classes, living arrangements, and most importantly, the individual himself.

A Home Away From Home What does the smell of freshly popped popcorn, doing laundry for the first time, watching soaps in the T.V. lounge, and keeping late hours in the study lounge bring to mind? Dorm life, a student ' s home away from home. Life in a dorm can be very fulfilling, but it ' s only what you, the student, put into it. Special events are organized to better familiarize everyone with each other. There are decorating and various events for homecom- ing, date parties, rollerskating parties, and mixers with other dorms. Though dorm life sounds like a bowl of cherries, there are some simple regulations that go along with it. Signing guests in and out is highly suggested, especially in single sex dorms. Fire drills are nice to have every now and then at 1:00 a.m. in the morning. If you plan on staying out late, don ' t forget your l.D. It might be helpful if you plan on getting back in your dorm. Even though a resident dorm family has its disputes; it is indeed our home away from home.
