More than 300 graduating seniors and under- classmen gathered in Haas Auditonum on April 29 for the 10th Annual Awards Convocation, honor- ing special achievement in academics and extra- curricular activities. These plus 1000 more observed as guest speaker John F. Gerrity, a for- mer BSC student now employed by the FBI, deliv- er ed the opening address on Success . Bruce DeHaven, the chairman of the Awards Committee, got the presentations under way by presenting awards for academic achievement and to seniors elected to Who ' s Who. The Director ' s Awards and CAD Awards, as well as service plaques, life-time community activities cards, and service certificates were distributed in appreciation for service to BSC by seniors and underclassmen. Life-time athletic passes and special recognition of athletes and rec- ognition of outstanding achievement in various fields, including Music, Biology, English and Chemistry were distributed. Also, several scholar- ships were announced including the 1st Annual Sharon Trapazzano Scholarship. President McCormick made four special presen- tations: Certificates of Appreciation to three people who contributed outstanding services to BSC and the 1st Annual Outstanding Senior Award honor- ing excellence in scholarship and leadership. This special award was presented to Joseph Mattivi, a senior majoring in French and Spanish.
