The M G is located in room 234 Waller, Ext. 323, Box 301. alan klawitter, sports editor, bob Oliver, photographer, pam hjckey. editor, david o ' bnen, assistant editor, torn schofield, photography editor obiter 1972 jim sachetti running a college newspaper frequently resembles leading a band of tfiirsting cape buffalo into a lake without allowing them to drink, in a college year fraught with rampant bickermgs, bitchmgs. and various assorted tripe, sachetti managed not only to sift out the valuable and informative news from the worthless and inferior garbage; but he presented it in a clearly understandable way. with the morning press being the only other newspaper in the good ole bsc homestead, the importance of the maroon gold ' s coverage of such events as the lanuary (et. al.) board of trustees meeting proved invaluable to the college community, despite threats from everyone from adver- tisers to deake porter, jim sachetti wrangled his way through to become one of the most successful college newspaper editors in bloomsburg ' s history, but the problems on campus were not the only headaches of the paper ' s editor, organizing and directing a staff of aspiring young journalists (from lost freshmen to know-it-all upperclassthmgs) is an important task of the editor, jim was not immune to grumbles and gripes from those who felt things should be different. |im actually managed to get his staff to work, most of the time, in bloomsburg, that ' s something, now that sufficient praise has been aptly showered over he who peers from the opposite page, we close on a somber note — gone home to his cooch in metropolitan hazleton, sachetti reigns no more. ! r MM Wk J m u I ' A mtr ■ F L ' f m 1 . Stephen bresett, chairman of the dept. of physical education and athletics, dean edson dral e, and carl hinkle, acting wrestling coach, unable to resolve their problems, the team voted 12 to 3 against continuing the season, the reasons given were lack of interest on the part of the student body, lack of men, there weren ' t enough guys to compete, circumstances brought on by last may ' s incident, things just weren ' t the same, lack of men in each weight class to continue, for the purpose of preserving the colleges outstanding reputation in wrestling, and too much player dissention. we can only hope that until next year most of the existing problems can be resolved, and that bloomsburg state can once again produce the fine wrestling teams which it has done in previous years.
