FOREWORD There have been many tangiljle changes on the campus of what is now Bloomsburg State College since we entered it four years ago. The 1961 OBITER provides a pic- torial record of those changes. It is. however, much more difficult to convey the less obvious transformation. T ith increased enrollment has come in- creasing opportunities for the students. And yet physical expansion has not lued impersonality. Tlie friendly college on the hill has remained true to tradition. Bloomsburg has always been a pro- fessional institution for the training of teachers. But as we broaden our scope, it is our aim to prepare teachers who are competent outside as well as inside the classroom. This is the clu-onicle of our growth.
