Man Representative. 126 Fellow Members of the Class of 1956: Within a short time you will be grad- uated from college. This is, understand- ably, an important event in your lives. It should be remembered as one of the truly proud moments in lives of boundless po- tential. But it must also be remembered as a moment that has been made possible only through the unselfish sacrifices of you and your families. You are to be con- gratulated on this accomplishment, just as your families deserve congratulations for their part in this realization. A happy memory is among the most valuable things you may possess. In this age of psychologv- however, memory is often thought of as a hiding place for the hurts of children, a jungle in which psychologists probe for wolves of fear and snakes of anxiety. It is my sincere hope that the memories you take from Bloomsburg will be pleasant ones which will have lasting significance. For the past four years, you have watched spring, with all its beauty and signs of new life, come to College Hill. Three times you watched your friends depart from the ivy-covered walls of the institution they held in esteem, and each time you realized that they took something of Bloomsburg with them. But you were also conscious of the fact that each had. in turn, enriched the college community by his presence. Now it is your turn to parade in cap and gown to the strains of Pomp and Cir- cumstance and with it sav farewell to your college days. This can be an important part of that memory you will take from College Hill, and with it goes the satisfaction of knowing that you, too, will always be a part of Bloomsburg. So also will Blooms- burg continue to be a part of your lives. Serving you as your class president has been an outstanding honor and certainly one of the fondest memories I will take from college. I would like to take this op- portunity to thank you for this privilege. It is my genuine hope that as you embark on the various paths that life has charted for you, your future will be filled with a great deal of happiness and success.
