Hi-Y Buries John J. Jasper! For the first time in many a year the theme for the Thanksgiving eonvo, sponsored by the Senior Hi-Y. was along a humorous line. The basic ideas of Thanksgiving were cleverly and pleasingly pre- sented to the student body which made it an inspir- ing convocation. A funeral service for John Jacob Jasper, planned and acted out by the members, and a rousing speech by lVlr. Red Latimer made the Jasper pep session one of the best ever. Also on the agenda for the year was the annual HlVIile of Penniesn drive for the pur- pose of helping needy families at Christmas. The year was climaxed by the presentation of a scholar- ship for two years at college. Hi-Y leaders were Ronnie Pedro, president, Bill Bruce, vice-president, Les Coyne, secretary, Joe Curtis, chaplaing Larry Trueblood, point secretaryg and Clyde Black, sponsor.
