Hi-Y Clean sports, clean speech, clean scholarship and clean living is the purpose of the lli-Y. The Hi-Y is open to any interested high school boy. The group is divided into two see- tions. One group is composed of junior and senior boys. Their otlieers were Tony NIeNiillau, presidentg Bill Minor, vice-president. Eddie Coheen, secretary-treasurerg and Onva lioshears, chaplain. Some of their activities this year in- cluded sponsoring the Mile of Pennies drive, the Thanksgiving convocation, and a havride in the spring. The other group is composed of freslnnen and sophomore boys. Their oflieers were Cene Park, presidentg David NVilliams, vice-presidentg jim Hays, seeretaryg john Parker, treasurerg Mike Roark, chaplaing and Bill Bissev, point secretary. Torch Club The Torch Clubs of Bloomington High School are the junior high branches of the Y.M.C.A. This is the second year the Torch Club has been divided into two clubs, the 7th and 8th grade Torch Clubs. Activities for the year con- sisted of several social events and their annual project at the Winter Carnival. Officers for the seventh grade were Larry Linthicum, president, Roger Duncan, vice-presi- dent, jim Dodd, secretary-treasurer, Fred Miller, point secretary, and George Crider, chaplain. Oiiicers for the eighth grade Were Dick Sparks, president, Bob Boruff, vice-president, Ronnie Pedro, secretary-treasurer, john Barrow, point secretary, and Charles Hadley, chaplain. The sponsor of the 7th grade Torch Club is Mr. NVilliam Kamman, and Mr. Earl Graves sponsors the 8th grade group. Projectors' Club Education is not complete Without good movies to make a class more interesting. Student helpers of the Projectors, club make our class- room films possible. In this club, boys are taught to operate pro- jectors and to run phonographs and slide pro- jectors. Since the Audio-Visual Center for the Metropolitan Schools is located in Bloomington High School, the boys in the club must also help keep the material recorded and filed.
