The student governing body of B.H.S. is the student council, which is composed of two representatives from each home room. These students carry the ideas of their home rooms to the council where they are discussed and voted upon. The year's activities of the council included installing the trophy cases in the main building and in the gym- nasium, sponsoring many of the after-game dances, supervising the election of cheerleaders, helping in the school clean-up campaign, and providing student hall monitors at noon periods. Also, they backed many local, state, and national drives, had student representation on faculty committees, backed the Win- ter Carnival, and promoted the annual all-school dance in the spring. The 1955 executive committee consisted of Don Rush, Larry Allen, Sharon Bruce, Judy Branam, Bill Jenkin. john Isom, Tony McMillan, Feltus Leinen- weber, Bill Bissey, Bill Stuckey, and Robert Norman.
