An organization which enables the student body to have a voice in making and entorcing school policies is the Student Council. Some of the objectives ot this group include maintaining cooperation between teachers and students, acting as hosts to visitors, assisting in raising money tor school activities, training students in leadership, and attempting to maintain a satistactory school spirit. Two students are elected trom each ot the home rooms to act as representatives. From that group the otticers plus an elected student trom each grade level malre up the Executive Committee ot the council. Besides worlcing on special projects and help- ing with community and national drives, the Student Council supervises the election ot the yell leaders, conducts school clean-up and courtesy drives, provides hall moni- tors tor noon period supervision, sponsors many ot the atter-game dances, provides student representation tor taculty committees, and pertorms any and all functions that will help B.l-'l.S. The annual Winter Carnival was sponsored tor the tourth year by the council to raise tunds tor worthwhile school improvements. The climax ot a most progressive year was the annual all-school dance which was held this spring. Those students who served on the Executive Committee this year included David Davies, Dan Weaver, Ladonna Higgins, Janice Thrasher, Charles Parrott, Gary Gool- dy, Pat Trueblood, Charles Miller, Paddy Engle, Linda l-lash, and David Williams.
