SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS Seated: Phil Wible, Mr. Ashbaucher, Glen Graves, Miss Dodds, Martha Miller. Standing: Wilma Jean Cracraft, Phil Duncan, Don Trueblood. Cifass .gfistowy The history of the Class of 1944 of Bloomington High School started twelve years ago in cities throughout our nation where the present members of our class were in the first grade. After three years of high school training, however, we became united as a class. In April 1943, we elected the following class officers: Glen Graves, president, Phil Wible, vice-president, Don Trueblood, treasurer, Martha Miller, secretary, Phil Duncan, Gothic editor, and Wilma Jean Cracraft, business manager. As our sponsors we chose Miss Dodds and Mr. Ashbaucher. Our Prom, Wishing Well, was presented in honor of the class of 1,943 on May 14, 1943. Don Faris and Martha Miller reigned as prom king and queen. In our senior year we had our get-acquainted party on November f2 and the Farewell Flop, a party for January graduates, on January 20. The Gothic S-taff was announced on September 24 and Editor Phil Duncan and Business Manager Wilma Jean Cracraft met with their staff to map out the work on the yearbook. Our presentation of Western Union, Please on December S and 9 proved to be a howling success, and it was followed by our second play, Kind Lady, on April 19 and 20, which was excellently received. Graduating boys in the class who have entered the Armed Forces before the close of school are Lester Lucas, Paul Douthitt, Clifford Coan, Herbert Harrington, Gerald Sargent, Bob Weaver, Max Bender, Don Moulden, Herbert Capshew, Bob May, Jim McBride, Dick Ramsey, Billy Salmon, Bob Chaille, Bob Thompson, and Jimmie Humphrey. We held our reception for our parents on April 25 and with the prom, the senior dance, baccalaureate, and commencement, the Class of 1944 bade its farewell to B. H. S.
