This organization has been active in providing facilities for improving the educational program. Mr. Binford, superintendent of city schools, and Miss Fleener, clerk of the school board, are available to students and faculty of B. H. S. at all times.

Uqcfministfzation ana, ...cfaculty Friendly administrators whom the students feel free to consult in the solving of personal problems is a necessity for a large high school. Superintendent Binford, acting principal, and Mr. Templeton, assistant principal, have maintained a fine spirit between faculty and students during the absence of Dr. Simon. Mr. Templeton also serves as dean of boys and Mrs. Krueger is the dean of girls. Educational and vocational guidance is under the direction of Miss Dodds and Mrs. Peters. This year the faculty encouraged many worthwhile projects in addition to their regular class work. They included war bond and stamp sales, Red Cross War Fund drive, salvage collections, knitting, and blood dona- tions. New members added to the faculty this year were Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Dowling, Mrs. Garton, Mrs. Neill, Mrs. Pournaras, Mr. Brice, Mr. Burns, Mr. Hoke, Mr. Long, and Mr. McCall. .Members of the faculty who have entered the armed forces since last year are Mr. Myers, Armyg Mr. Cox, Navy, Miss Schwend, WACQ Mr. Brogneaux, Navy, Mr. Wonnell, Army.
