To gain membership in this organization, the student must rank high in courage, leadership, service, character, and scientific scholarship. The purpose of the National Scientific Honor Society is to assist in the further development of scientific attitudes of the students. Each year a state meeting is held in conjunction with the Indiana Academy of Science which sponsors the N. S. H. S. in the various high schools. Officers for the year are: Mary Lee Adams, president 5 Thekla Thrasher, vice-president, Betty Vest, secretary, and Ann Abbett, treasurer. The sponsor of the society is Mr. Williams.

The Bloomington High School Chapter was established in 1927, and each year members are chosen on the basis of scholarship, leadership, character, and service from both the senior and junior classes. Carolyn Adams, Catherine Fox and Betty Morgan Were elected in their junior year. The officers for this year are: Allan Bruner, president, Carolyn Adams, secretary, Miss Coffey, sponsor.

OFFICERS OF STUDENT COUNCIL Mrs Kreuger, Mr. Cuddy, Ted Fox, Catherine Fox, Marjorie Burns, Martha Miller, Patsy Fowler. Student Council Representing the student body, the student council is a governmental unit of the school sponsored by Mrs. Krueger and Mr. Myers. One boy and one girl are elected by the students of each home room to represent them in the council. Through it the students are able to express their desires to the administration. The council has Won the undying love of every B. H. S. jitterbug by sponsoring dances after home basketball and football games. The Bangle Sale, War Stamp Drive, and Christmas baskets are all under the auspices of this group of leaders. The officers chosen for the year are: Ted Fox, presidentg Catherine Fox, vice-presidentg Martha Miller, recording sec- retaryg Marjorie Burns, corresponding secretaryg and Patsy Fowler, treasurer.
