XVRESTLING The 1021 lVrestling team, under the leadership of Coaeh Harold Muinby and Captain Keith Hepburn, pulled down State honors from a field of strong opponents. Having been unable to sehedule any preliminary meets, ther entered the tournament with their strength eomparatively unknown. How- ever, sinee they had reeeived sueh thorough training from Coat-h Mumby and Assistant t'oaeh Lehr. followers of the Purple were almost positive of the out- eome. Taking five firsts, two seeonds, and two thirds, Bloomington piled up a total of fifty-seven points as against forty-two for Monticello, the elosest eompetitor. Jimmie Barnhill, 100 pounder and Captain Hepburn, both won third plaees, having lost to the ultimate ehamps in their weights, in the preliniinary bouts. George Brisbane, 125 pounds, and f'arl Fhitwood, 145 pounds, were awarded seeond ratings after they had lost in the final bouts. Both were defeated by small margins. Paul Kerr, 108 pounds, won first after downing his men in speetaeular matehes. Paul XVeatbers made short work of his opponents. being on the mat a total of less than four minutes, winning both bouts, and the eham- pionship of 155 pound class, by falls. Estell Ritter, 175 pounds, also wears a gold medal as a result of his good work. Ralph Hunter found easy sledding in the heavy-weight class.
