OUR LIFE WAS STEERED BY THE STUDENT COUNCIL Keeping more active than ever before, this year's student council instituted the schools first requirement that students must bid for their offices. The resulting group is pictured above following their election to office. Projects came in rapid succession with the group sponsoring a charity movie and looking after the general welfare of members of their student body. Nearly two hundred dollars was handed out to various charities in a series of checks mailed to local organizations. Members of the student council for the year 1954-1955 are Front row, left to right, Meredith Foss, Beverly Johnson, Patricia Quam, Gary Jenson, Laura Kamleiter, Delores Wolf, Martha Lukach, P. Arthur Hoblit. Second row: Robert Thoma, Peggy Crane, Donna Hardesty, Wesley Sharratt, Jack Carlson, Joan McDonald, Marilyn Pahl, Richard Royle. Back row: Ingbert Leypoldt, Douglas Last, Donald Atkinson, Julie Ann Carlson, Sharon Pedersen, Yvonne Edstrom, Delene Maurseth, Ted Mellby. One of the most pleasant tasks of the year for Beve rly Johnson, president of the student council, was to mail out checks to various designated charities. Here, she and Delene Maurseth look over the various letters going to the organizations.
