H. S. as the freshman class. We were then the largest class that B. H. S. had ever had. With Miss Miller and Mr. Sanks as sponsors, we elected our officers as follows: Bob Melvin, President, Harry Oollingsworth, Vice Presidentg Joe Nlerman, Secretary and Treasurer. In a few months our President moved and we then e'ected Mary Allce Kestner to flll his place. We had a class party ln October and every one who attended had a good time. Little GJ damage was done to the building. During the year we had two candy sales and Harry F:rgey and Mary Alice Kestner brought honors to our class by winning the County Freshman Latin Contest. We were left out of the Junior Reception but that only made us more anxious to Put on our own when we became Juniors. In the following September, we retumed to school with a much smaller 'class but more dignified and ready to face the study and work that goes to make successful graduates. SOPHOMORE YEAR We had lost Florence Hupp, Stanley England, Melvin Silence, Rcbert Miller, Nellie Allman, and Robert Braden. We gained Margaret Perry, Elwln Winks, and Tom Garner. Evelyn Goss, Jimmy Patterson, Mary Allman and Richard Wessel moved away. That winter Benny Perslnger one of our best liked and popular classmate since our first year of school, died causing grief to the entire school and community. We sponsored a luncheon and it was quite a success since the weather was in our favor. We also had two candy sales. msn . We eiected as our officers Joe Nierman, President Bob Speer, Vice Presl- dentg Lloyd Harrls, Treasurer: Martha Lee Robertson, Secretary. We owed much of our advancement to our spcnsor Mr. Akers. We dldn't wln the class tourney, but we did the class track meet. Glen Banks and Harry Forgey re- presented the class ln the Latln Contest. Harry Forgey also brought honors tn himself and the class by winning second place in the county contests. During this year we lest Aruthur Darlage, Billy Klnworthzy, Betty Robbins, Richard Beickman, Clair Owens, Herman Sitterding, Herbert Hehman, Harry Coll- ingsworth and Marie Stuckwlsh. JUNIOR YEAR After spending another four months of carefree llfe ln Vacation Park, our class again assembled ready to begin our Junior year. Wle were proud to be upper classmen at last but we knew a very busy year was ahead of us. We elected as our fcfficers Joe Nlerman, President: Bob Speer, Vice Presldentg Margaret Perry, Secretaryg and Jim iSchleter, Treasurer. Miss Denny was sponsor. In February, we helped sponsor the Junior and Senior Carnival and it was a big success. We had one class party and at the end of school, we had our Reception in honor of the senl-ors. We had lost Tom Garner and Elwln Winks, but had gained Estena Atkinson and Guy Johnson. Two of our boys. Speer and Schleter played on the varsity and Wayne Sterling was one of our Yell Leaders. SENIOR YEAR This year ls our last of glorious and excltlng high school llfe. No class or student ever realizes what happiness or value high schools holds until their senior year.
