During their spare time they directed the activities of 28 clubs, taught adult educatimz tzco nights a. week, attended Parent-Teacher Association meetings and weekly faculty meetings, and furthered their o ll'7l educatiorz through advanced courses of study. Our teachers came in assorted sizes, shapes, and personalities, but they all shared a common creed: to impress upon the 'minds of their students every iota of knowledge possible and to help each attain the highest degree of personal deielopcment. Our teachers zcere required to have the energy of volcanoes, the efficiency of adding machines, the memory of elephants, the an- derstamling of psychiatrists, the wisdom of Solomon, and the tenacity of spiders. Harn Instrumental Music 1 They Emphasized The Value Of Fine Morals And Manners During the day we sometimes thought our teachers were mean, cranky, grouchy indi- viduals, intent only on giving as many sei'- enth hours as possible. But we knew that when they left the school building they be- came normal people, interested in getting home to their families, putting on the roast, going out for dinner, or spending a quiet evening at home. Not only did our teachers suppomt the student body during the day, but many of them made it a point to attend as many ath- letic functions, dramatic productions, and music programs as possible. Much credit goes, also, to faculty members behind the scenes of these activities, who gave up their own time to lend a helping hand to students. The most amazing thing about our teachers was that they liked to teach. Plane ueonictry problem with the use of a puralleloixrani was illustrated by Irving Aikin. 1 Howard P.
