QT 5 lil Parades, assemblies, games, confetti, mums, royalty, dances, cheers, floats. These are the thoughts that filled the minds of all B. H. S.'ers during the latter part of September and the early part of October. Festivities began with an assembly on the morning of October 9th. After the band had put everyone in a lively mood, Mr. Don Bolinger, class of '33 gave a pep talk. With raccoon coat and all, Mr. Bolinger put us in just the right mood for the events to come. Royalty was then introduced to the student body for the first time. .lack Sallade crowned Martha Grone- meier as the Homecoming queen of 1952. Her attend- ants were Joan Huber, .loan Hitchcock, Donna Johnson, and Nancy Lewis. Everyone worked hard to make ready his float for the grand parade on Friday afternoon. This spec- tacle was an example of our all out to win spirit. With banners waving, students and interested town- folk lined the streets to watch. With confetti fluttering in the air, homecomers gathered for the game with Lincoln Friday night with hope in their hearts and spirits high. Although Lincoln won, the game was enioyed by all. Presentation of the queen and court, music by the band, and a welcome by Principal Kurtz constituted the traditional halftime ceremony. Dancing to the music of Walt Loftiss in Pearl Para- dise ended the festivities. The dance was on Saturday evening from 9-l2. Early in the evening David Wil- liams, chairman of the Homecoming events, crowned the queen and attendants with floral crowns.
