The secretary employed by the board has charge of all the accounts of the schools and acts as a purchasing agent for them.

ADAMS Dean THE SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Wells was born in Royallon, Illinois, alfending grade school al' Royallon, fhen gradualing from Universily High School el Carbondale, Illinois. Afler gradualing from Soufhern Illinois Slale Normal he enrolled al Ihe Universify of Chicago and com- pleled his sludies in Ihe field of educalion re- ceiving high honors along wilh his B. A., Ph. D. and his M. A. degrees. Before coming lo Bloominglon Mr. Wells had esfeblished a repulafion as a suc- cessful execulive, and we are happy lo have him as 'the head of our enfire school sysfem. THE PRINCIPAL THE DEAN Mr. Kurlz was born in Bloomingfon, Illinois, and alfended grade school and high school here. He had Ihe honor of being presidenl and valediclorian of his senior class, gradualing in I9I3. AI Illinois Wesleyan Universiiy he received his bachelors degree in I9I7. CIi'FI'on Kurfz Ihen began leaching af Bloominglon High School, buf resigned in lhe fall ol l9I7 io enlisf in lhe Navy during World War I. Afler serving in 'the Navy, Mr. Kurlz re- furned fo leaching a+ B. H. S. In l937 he received his masIer's degree from fhe Universily of Chicago and was elecled 'ro Phi Kappa Delia, an honorary educational fralernily. His abiliiies were recog- nized as an able adminislralor and he was ap- poinled principal in I940. This year marks eighl years of successful leadership al Ihe helm of our fine school. Mr Harry L Adams was born in Downs Illinois and graduafed from Unlversnly High School In Normal Aller allendlng Illinois Sfale Normal Unl verslfy and 'the Unrversify of Wlsconsm he wenl fo fhe Universlly of Illinois from which he received his B Ed degree Being a licensed governmenl' inslrucior In aeronauhcs he cenducfed classes for pilols framing aI' bolh Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois Sfare Normal Umversihes and also faughl in 'Ihe Navy V-I2 program during World War ll. For some years Mr. Adams has been a leacher of science and recenfly was appoinled Ihe Dean of Sfudenls al Bloominglon High School.
