MISS MILDRED LIERMAN Dean of Glrls DEAN 0F BOYS Mr Adams was born in Downs lllinois and was graduated from University High School in Normal He attended the University ol Wisconsin the University of Illinois and Illinois State Normal University from which he received his B Ed degree Mr Adams has worked as a geologist in the Illinois Geological Survey and has been a licensed government instructor in aero nautics since l93? During the war he conducted classes on pilots training at both Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois State Normal Universities and taught in the Navy V l2 program For the past seventeen years Mr Adams has been a teacher ot science and more recently the Dean ot Boys at Bloomington High Page Elghl DEAN 0F GIRLS The Dean of Girls, Miss Mildred Lierman, was born in Bloomington, Illinois, and was educated in the pub- lic school system and later graduated from Blooming- ton High School. ln her senior year, she had the honor ot winning a state chemistry contest. When Miss Lier- man graduated from Illinois State Normal University, she took iurther training at Northwestern University and at was at Northwestern that she received her M. A. While at lllinois State Normal she was a member of several honorary societies and was elected to Pi Lambda 'Iheta at Northwestern. GEORGE N WELLS Superuntendent of Public Schools THE PRINCIPAL Clifton Kurtz was born un Bloomington lllunous and attended grade school and hugh school un thus cuty He was elected president of his senior class and re ceuved the honor of valeductoruan in the graduating class ot l9l3 at Bloomington Hugh School He then bachelors degree with the class of l9l7 He was a member of Pu Kappa Delta at Wesleyan Mr Kurtz then took a teaching position at Bloomington Hugh but resugned un the fall of l9l7 to enlust un the army of Wo'rld War I Upon hus discharge Mr Kurtz re turned to Bloomington Hugh School where he became pruncupal in l940 ln l937 our pruncupal receuved hus masters degree at the Unuversuty of Chicago and was elected to Phu Kappa Delta an honora y educatuon society THE SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Wells was born in Royalton, lllinois, and at- tended University High at Carbondale. After grad- uatung from Southern Illinois State Normal he went to The University of Chicago where he graduated with honors in the Department of Educatuon. From the University of Chicago he received his B. A. and M. A. degrees and has completed his work for o Ph. D. with tne exception ot a thesis, Mr. Wells is completing his second year as Superintendent ot Public Schools in Bloomington.
