Friday, September 28, the crowning of the Homecoming Queen, Marlene Borchert, took place in the gymnasium. Queen Marlene was crowned by Lyle Muller and robed by Don Carlson, able co-captains of the football team. Lad Turner, president of the Senior Class, presented her with a bouquet of red roses. Ann Christianson, Betty Lund, Dorcas Milton, and Lois Underwood attended her to the throne. While the queen was seated elegantly upon her throne a trio sang, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes. Queen Marlene then presented the football play- ers with lucky pennies on black ribbons. Following the ceremony, a short pep fest was held in the gym which consisted of speeches by alumni and others. The Queen and her attendants assembled in a convertible to be escorted in the parade. The parade was led by the band and majorettes follow- ed by the class floats of which the Seni0r's float took first place. The New Richland Cardinals fell to the Blossoms 30-0. The Homecoming dance was held Saturday night at the gymnasium which ended the celebration. B are ovei x 'oe Ba 1951 PROM v A 4 'X 0 K '- X X 1 . X -f A X ' 1 - xi ' XX x 'P ' NX Qi.
