The festivities of the 1950 Homecoming celebration began on Thursday night at Victory Field where the traditional bonfire, and afterwards the snake dance through main street, took place. On Friday, October 13, Marian Amundson was crowned Queen of Homecoming. Her attendants were Lois Wold, Gloria Johnson, Darlene Eaker, and Marianne Schiller. Queen Marian was crowned and robed by the captain of the football team, Jack Brainerd. Robert Coughlin, the president of the Senior Class, presented the Queen with a bouquet of chrysan- themums and red roses. While the royal party was seated on the stage, Nancy Foster sang, For You. Then Marian presented each member of the team with a lucky penny on a black ribbon.
