CHRISTMAS ENTERTAINMENT An operetta entitled nTables Turnedn was pre- sented by the grade children at the P.T.A. Meeting on December 21. It was directed by these teachers: Hrs. Munn, Mrs. Rubright, Miss Buchanan, and Mrs. Grant. . The operetta presented a new and interesting version of the old Santa Claus story. Santa Claus lPaul Northrop! went on a sit-down strike because he had to work on Christmasg he demanded shorter hours and more attention. This appalling truth was dis- covered by two children, Donald fHaro1d Boutwelll and Dorothy CEdith Munnl, who had come to visit him. They promptly called a delegation of children from all over the world who came to visit Santa, bringing him the gifts of Christmas Joy CShirley Louise Laugh- eryl and Christmas Cheer fShirley Hay Laugheryl. This act of the ehildren's completely reformed Santa, and he went back on duty. The operetta closed with a dramatization of the Madonna and Christ Child scene by children from Mrs. Munn's room. Gther highlights of the play were: The Carpenters Song and The Seamstrcsses Song by - the boys and girls of Mrs. Grant's roomg The Snow- flakes Chorus and The Noisy Boys Song by the pupils in Miss Buchanan's and Hrs. Rubright's roomsg and Santa's solo. GLEE CLUB Under the direction of Mrs. Parker the high school girls' Glee Club spent a great deal of time practicing. At the beginning of the year it sponsor- ed a candy sale for the purpose of starting the fund for buying robes to use at public appearances. . At the Farmers' Institute, which was held here at the school building, the Glee Club sang several numbers. On the morning of the Forensic contests the club gave a short musical program in chapel. Then that evening it sang at the Crawford County Forensic R Music League in the Class C contest of choruses at Cambridge in the Methodist-Episcopal Church.
