WTHE ADVENTURES OF TON oAWYERn WThe Adventures of Tom Sawyeru, a play in three acts, was presented under the direc- tion of Miss Kelley by the Public Speaking Class and the Juniors on Friday, December 3, 1037 in the Bloomfield High School Auditorium. In the play, active Tom Bauyer's QNick Yostl clever ruses proved very laughable and interesting, such as his plan to get the fence whiteweshed by making out to his companions that the job was highly desireable and even worth money for the privilege of attempting. Tom's adored one, Becky Thatcher CCarrie Langworthyj, expressed her affectionate nature when Tom and his less unfortunate friend, Huck Finn lRussell Wrightl, along with his bosom pal, Joe Harper KAleX Aversal, were believed to have been murdorcdg instead they survived another daring experience. Other characters in the production were: Tom's Aunt Polly CDorothy Wilkinsj, half brother Sidney CClinton Thomasy, Tom's Cousin Mary iMarjorie Willcyl, a neighbor, Mrs. Sereny Harper KTwila Metzl, Susie Harper KNancy Gouldsmithj, Widow Douglas fLeora Mortonl, a young negro boy Jim, KMarion Boutwelll, and Sheriff CEarl Van Tassell. Those on the staff who helped make the play a success were Vivian Obert, business manager, Marjorie Ongley, reserve seats, Virginia Southall and Georgiavenne Beckwith, property managersg Charles Morton, stage manager.

N v 24 II I .1 .1 CHRISTMAS PLAYS The P. T. A. meeting of December 20, 1937 was given over to the grade teachers who put on three plays. Mrs. Grant, teacher of the first and second grades, directed NFarewell to Toy- landn. We'll all remember Grant Price, rider of the hobby horse, and his NI'm so excitedn. Miss Buchanan, teacher of third and fourth grades, and Mrs. Rubright, teacher of fifth and sixth grades directed NO Come Ye to Bethlehemn and Wwho Bclieves in Santa Clause?W. The former gave us the story of the birth of Christ, and the latter showed how children appreciated Santa Clause. SENIOR JAMBOREE On October 28, 1957 the seniors sponsored a masquerade Hallowe'cn party in the school gym- nasium. There was a grand msrch for which priz- es were given to the best wget upn and the fun- niest. ' The program, similar to a floor show, con- sisted of: A Shadow Show of Dr. Killimquick's famous operation. WLct Me Call You Sweetheertv by the orch- estra. p Boxing Match Musical number by the Quintuplets from Podunk The Dancing Horse Tap Dance by three clowns NThree Jolly Fishermenn sung by the Fire- men's Band , Clown Act by Tumble :nd Fumble nMy New Silk Hath sung by the Firemen's Band Later everyone had his fortune told, visit- ed the House of Horrors, and had a delicious lunch. The Senior Class thanks all who helped make the party a success!
