In the play, active Tom Bauyer's QNick Yostl clever ruses proved very laughable and interesting, such as his plan to get the fence whiteweshed by making out to his companions that the job was highly desireable and even worth money for the privilege of attempting. Tom's adored one, Becky Thatcher CCarrie Langworthyj, expressed her affectionate nature when Tom and his less unfortunate friend, Huck Finn lRussell Wrightl, along with his bosom pal, Joe Harper KAleX Aversal, were believed to have been murdorcdg instead they survived another daring experience. Other characters in the production were: Tom's Aunt Polly CDorothy Wilkinsj, half brother Sidney CClinton Thomasy, Tom's Cousin Mary iMarjorie Willcyl, a neighbor, Mrs. Sereny Harper KTwila Metzl, Susie Harper KNancy Gouldsmithj, Widow Douglas fLeora Mortonl, a young negro boy Jim, KMarion Boutwelll, and Sheriff CEarl Van Tassell.
