The Salvation Army tries to change the ways of the dancers by performing a righteous hymn. The spring musical, Guys and Dolls, was a huge success as it was held for the first time in the Shawnee Community Theatre. The presentation lasted three days, April 24, 25, 26. The Strut and Fret received many compliments about the play and had a great time performing it. DRAMA HAS BUSY SCHEDULE The Walt Disney Christmas cast assembles on the stage after their tribute to Walt Disney. The Strut and Fret and Varsity Chorus merged to perform two productions early in the school year. The first occurred at the Apple Festival and recognized songs from Broadway musicals. On December 10 and 11 a convocation was presented to grades 1-6. This program was a tribute to Walt Disney. Both programs helped to prepare the students for the spring musical. STUDENT COUNCIL SPONSORS TWO CONVOCATIONS The Britton Brothers and the IU Jazz Ensemble came to perform for the student body this year. The first convocation, performed by the Britton Brothers, was enjoyed by all. All of their selections consisted of gospel songs with the exception of a Kenny Rogers rendition of an old gospel song, Love Lifted Me and the crowd pleasing Oak Ridge Boys song, Dream On. The other convocation, given by the IU Jazz Ensemble, consisted of jazz music. Different musical instrmnents were used such as piano, bass, drums, flute, clarinet, and saxophone. The Britton Brothers and their band capture the crowd with their version of Dream On. ........--,,,,, 16 The jazz band from Indiana Univer plays a moderate rock jazz.
