SUMMER FUN- P00l, PARADE, PICNICS, PlUS The activities of the 1979 summer kept BHS students busy. The Bloomfield swimming pool opened on Memorial Day weekend providing jobs as lifeguards for some and a warm vacation for the sun worshipers. Members of the band, flag corps, and Redliners spent two evenings a week in preparation for the Linton 4th of July parade. This year WTHI Channel 10 televised the parade for those unable to attend. A number of students spent their vacation working at part-time jobs. Some of the jobs consisted of being cooks, waitresses, corn detasselers, and con- struction crew workers. Seminars, workshops, institutes, and camps provided a new learning experience as students attend college campuses. A bucket enables Byron l-Iostettler to become acquainted with the water. The 4th of July parade gives Tena Roudebush a chance to display her skills as a flag corps member. WU- Mr. Werremeyer, BHS band director, is prepared for rain while watching the band perform. K

A daunting 180 feet high, the trestle has a span of 2,295 feet. It is supported across its length by 18 steel towers. tHerald-Ttmesl 7
