NAVY ROCK BAND PROVIDES ENTERTAINMENT WITH A MODERN BEAT The Navy Rock Band gave a good show when they stopped in at BHS this year. They played many popular songs including some disco music from Saturday Night Fever. The students greatly appreciated the time and effort put forth by the band to present such an enjoyable program. CONVOCATIONS Upper Left: The popular Steve Martin's song King Tut was per- formed with a few special effects. Middle: Pom Pon girls Marilea Grider, Juli Grider, and Dawn Kirk perform a routine to the music of the Navy Rock Band. Lower Left: Students shared their enthusiasm by dancing to the disco beat. Lower Right: For a change of pace, the band played some slow dancing tunes. 17

- CONCERTS PERFORMING SONGS OF LOVE AND LIFE -- Being a member of band and chorus includes making public appearances at school concerts. The band and chorus participate in many concertsg these concerts are free of charge and open to anyone who wishes to listen to a night of enjoyable music. The chorus vocalized songs such as Jesus is Born, Home for Christmas, Ready to Take a Chance Again, and Hopelessly Devoted to You. The band performed an impressive concert for the crowd. They played an assortment of songs such as Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band Medley, Concert Preamble, a Charlie Chaplin Medley, and Trombone Triumph. Several students who are members of chorus and varsity chorus pleased the crowd with their solos also. Upper: Band members concentrate on making this the best concert ever. Lower Left: Happiness ls is sung by Marilea Grlder, Teresa Pittman, Diana Partain, and Brenda Dobson in their own special way. FLAG CORPS. DRUM MAJOR, 8. PEP BAND The flag corps and drum major work together adding color to the marching band. They both attend summer band sessions and also perform in local parades. The pep band plays for home basketball games, pep sessions, and the BHS Redliners. The special per- formances by these BHS groups are greatly appreciated by all.
