Williams Board of Trustees Town of Bloomfield Lee L' Stone Township Trustee Taylor Township The school board in cooperation with the state of Indiana, Superintendent Richeson and Principal Ralph Young approved a summer-school program which was conducted for the first time at BHS during the summer of 1961. The program consisted of Typing I, social studies, and drivers' education. The purpose of this program is to give ambitious students an opportunity to work subjects into their schedules that they might not be able to take during the regular school year. Summer School Learning to type was the purpose of Mrs. Uland's summer Typing I class. To gain experience, they watched a demonstration of duplicating--ditto and m1meograph-- then compiled a twenty page booklet. 1 -M 3 tty, a ' at fr ls. ourse in sociology this summer. As a culmination, a program was given, consisting of a debate and a mock UN Security Council meeting. The students discussed problems concerning world situations and explanations of several topics covered in the course. ,Q- ps- Watch out! You're going to hit that bridge! This is only one incident that Mr. Glover en- dured durng his summer school driver's training course.
