Dedication The pleasant attitude and personal warmth which have supplemented unstinted devotion to teaching, have gained Mr. Avery Gabbard much respect from students and teachers alike. Mr. Gabbard has achieved the goal sought by all teachers, he has the priceless ability to get the best out of ALL of his students. Not only a wonderful teacher, Mr. Gabbard is also an outstanding asset to the school extracurricular functions. He is the busy sponsor of the Junior class which, among other things, has to plan and put on a prom every year. He is also a sponsor of the Student Council. Students seek his advice throughout the school year, feeling that his opinions are based on whole- some personal experience and background. Because of his friendship, understanding, and assistance, the OWL STAFF proudly dedicates this, the 1962 OWL, to Mr. Avery Gabbard. Mr. Gabbard, wife Juanita, and son, Joe enjoying a peaceful evening at home.

As we lnve compiled this, the 1962 edition of the OWL , we the OWL Staff have tried to show some WO fd of the im rovements made at Bloom- ....al- , 7444 is ,,4' Nxt. ,.- Nils P field High School over the years. We have tried to do this by adding some -for- gotten pictures of our school and its stu- dents in former days to our present-'year pictures. The pictures from those years seem strange and amusing to us for they are examples of a past that has long since been forgotten. We don't know the people in those pictures, but they have spent many happy en- joyable years of their lives in some of the same halls and rooms as we have. The present -day students of Bloomfield High School have forgotten these people, yet these people will never forget this school that has meant so much to them. And we, the Seniors of 1962, will also be for- gotten by students in the years to come, probably sooner than we think. Perhaps all that will be remembered of us will be a class picture hung on a wall along with many others down one of the main corridors. Perhaps this is all the school has received from us, our pictures. Yet, we have received a full education - the key to our whole future - through the kindness of this school, its administration, and our teachers. N 4 , P J
