HENDREN, PRESIDENT Mr. Hendren graduated from the Bloomfield High School with the Class of 1947. He continued his education in Indiana University where he graduated from the School of Business Administration in 1951. From 1951 to 1953 Mr. l-lendren served in the U.S. Army Infantry with rank of First Lieutenant. During this time he was in active duty in Korea. At the present time he is the owner of H 85 H Motors, Inc., Ford Sales and Service. PAUL EDINGTON, TREASURER Mr. Edington is also an alumnus of Bloomfield High School and has the distinction of beginning his school career in Bloomfield. After graduating from Wabash College with an A.B. degree, he taught mathematics and science for eight years. At the present time he is an employee ar the Bloom- field Post Office where he has been for twenty-six years. I. R. WILLIAMS, SECRETARY Mr. Williams received his education in the schools of southern Illinois. In 1926 he came to Bloomfield to live. At that time he had a position as traveling salesman. From 1933 to 1945 he operated the Rainbow Store. During 1945 he eri- tered the dry goods and grocery business as owner. He is at the present time operating the Wil1iamsIGA and Williams Shopping Stores. As the bum expressed his thanks he handed her one of his cards upon whtch were written the fol lowing words Come to Bumgarden Motor Sales for your next set of tires Lexte Crowe representative It was an advertisement Following the crowd to a certain booth and wtthout knowing Just what was gomg on they placed S20 on Railscrapper to wm When they ftnally found a seat the race was ready to begin. The votce of the announcer sounded very familiar Looking at their racing form they discovered that it was J im Stafford Imagine their surprise to discover also that the owner of Railscraper was none other than petite Joyce Hudson and the jockey was mighty Max Townsend Yes it was an excitmg race at the last mmute Ratlscraper sprtnted and won Our travelers had won S380 apiece Wonderful! They would tour the southern states now Because the gas tank was almost empty they stopped at Bowling Green Kentucky and decided to eat there. As they pulled into the combtnauon gas station and restaurant, a man came rushing out to ftll the s tank. Hts features seemed famlhar, and upon closer observat1on they dtscovered that he was Harold Bough, He informed them that the food at the Filthy Platter was delictous From the attracttve waitress Miss Carolyn Padgett, our travelers each ordered a rare cheeseburger with onion and a glass of milk. Their exploits showed that they were ateam tobewatched in southern Indiana. They went throuyi their scheduled meets with an unmarred record of seven victories. The team swept the County Cross Country Meet for the second year in succession and won the Ccnference Cross Country Meet for the third time in three years. The team entered the Sectimal Cross Country Meet in October and finished fourth with Heaton winning, Morgan, 5th, Jordan, 16th, Pullm30th, and Blaker, 51st in a field of nearly 125 competitors. This entitled Heaton and Morgan to enter the state finals. In the field of more than 185, Heaton was running eighth when he hit a barrier and was forced from the race near the finish.
