RUDOLPH L. KNAKAL How could we, the girls of the Class of '57, have completed our high-school days so happily and successfully without the help and counsel of BIiss Van Patten? Blany have been the times when we were in need of sound guidance and comforting ad- vice. In Bliss Van Patten, we found such assistance. Her sympathetic understanding of the problems that confronted us seemed to banish all our anxiety. Even when we had no particular troubles, Bliss Van Patten was always glad to sit down with us for a friendly conversation. She has also spent many hours direct- ing us in the selection of appropriate courses as we enter the professional and business world around us. Because she has freely given of her time and effort, we shall always remember Bliss Van Patten, for she has been not only our adviser, but also our true friend. C ass dvisers BYise counseling, a few laughs, and a pat on the back-yes, one more boy had just experienced the expert'guidance of Blr. Knalial. BB'hen we were faced with seemingly insurmountable problems. Blr. Knalial offered a solntiong when things looked blaclx, he was our guiding beacong when we needed a friend with whom to talk, he readily found the time. ln BIr. Knalial's friendly smile, ready wit, enthusiasm, and mutual understanding was a certain magnetic charm that captured the confidence of all. Fortunate, in- deed, were we to know Blr. Knakal not only in his position as adviser, but also in the active role he assumed in many of our class activities. BYould our Christmas card sales or the Senior Dinner Dance have been so successful without his sincere interest and lively spirit? For his untiring energy in bringing us through three memorable years, we, the boys of the Class of ,57 are eternally grateful.
